Someone wrote th'following: Anyway we got around to chatting about B&S and she said sh had been in touch with Jeepster and she seemed to think that the band were playing over here in May. Is this true?? It looks as if there may be some B&S action in dublin, but not until the summer. July or something. I went into work and my workmates mentioned that there were some Scots in the pub, thinking that this would brighten up the idea of spending 7 hours working behind a fucking bar. They were kinda right. It always makes me feel slightly better (sad homesick person that I am). Anyway one of the aforementioned Scots appeared at the bar and asked in a very broad Glaswegian accent, "Where are the toilets?", and low and behold it was Kevin whats-his-name from Small faces, Trainspotting etc. I just stuttered a lot and then wished I had spoken to him properly. Damn, I wish I had done. Someone else said that John Hannah was in as well, I never spoke to him either. I think my favourite B&S line is definately, " All I wanted was to sing the saddest song, and if you could sing along I would be happy now." But then again it could be.... ( Claire gets lost in every B&S song possible.) Keith, Airwolf. Just because of the guy's name... Stringfellow Hawk, was it? Disposable income isn't something to throw away, thats like saying that you might as well buy one 399p single in virgin as four 99p ones in an independant shop. (And virgin are just as much the corporate whore as new labour, so support students and vote indy - even if most students are too selfish/stupid to realise whats going on. I'm with Sarah if you couldn't tell. But she probably makes more sense.) If I want to buy an album I have to go without protein for weeks I'll have you know. Oh yeah, and what is your problem with stupidity? Not only must I adore the Lovin' Spoonful, detest the nme and know everything ever about Northern Soul, I have to show signs of inteligence as well... Well there's only so far a guy will go for his art. But back to my point; Katrina, why not release the ep video's? Maybe as a limited edition list thing, cos you know we all love you. Once you have enough material to fill a whole tape of course... Also - how many Ink books has Stuart D sold? Is he now fabulously rich as well as stunningly handsom (girls all over the list prick up their ears:) and will Stuart M ever be releasing his stories about Belle and Sebastian (no, let me guess - they're all in his songs.) Just as you are leaving after ninety minutes of pleasant entertainment an old man with a weather beaten face comes up to you, grabs your arm and whispers "Lovin' Spoonful, sonny, Lovin' Spoonful" "What are you on about, old crone?" you ask him. The man draws your face close to his and hisses "Do you believe in magic? DO YOU?" That mysterious old man was the Duke of Haringay on field manoeuvres in his native Scotland. It's best to take his rants with a pinch of salt and enter the fantastic Duke Box Dury Competition. My own entry is almost finished, and I can't wait to see how it fares.
