I just thought I'd jump in after a terminally long silenceto let all you "absolutely must have everything B&S related" blokes and blokettes, that those Sub Pop kids are doing a a bunch of weird stuff around the new Looper full length. For starters they have very limited edition colored vinyl which can only be ordered direct from them. Then unless I'm mistaken they also send you the poster and enter you in a drawing to win an original sculpture by the lovely and charming Karn (of Looper.) Sinister: The Empire strikes back!

Here we are all happy bunnies together again! I have missed you ,all of you,so much these two infinite weeks.My work has not been productive at all during these two weeks, I was totally stuck trying to check why my fantastic Fortran code to transform two electron integrals (appasionating issue, I know),till Sinister returns to my second window and verve came back to my poor , wasted brain cells.I fell from my horse, I saw the light, and eureka! My code is working properly.After several hours of hard searching, no miracles. We cannot submit Isobel Campbell's application to the Vatican to become saint, not yet! My 5-ive choices to initiation as Dave requested: 1)Expectations 2)Fox in the snow 3)Get me away I am dying 4)Sleep the clock around 5)The Loneliness of ... These are experimental , tested results. Or how my housemates came into B&S daily adoration/addiction. M-o-t-o-r-h-e-a-d???Here?Now?One of the best Sinister features is how unexpected and amazing it is , everyday.Sinister,don't change ever.SuppaHoney, please,don't allow it if it ever came to happen.Eran, I went to a Motorhead concert once, and I had just heard two songs from 'Ace...' before the experience,and in spite of this fact, truly enjoyed it.They are genuine,no pose,no marketing,no hype.As far from Gay Dad as you could dream. Are we an ugly crowd?(I am wandering) Maybe locals will rate the Bowlie Weekender as the reverse of Miss/Mr England election, Brighton seems a good place for those beauty-contests. Hi List, Perhaps some of you are thinking "Hey, you posted twice in the same day! You're a dummy!" In fact, I would like to point out that I posted last night, but it didn't arrive until this afternoon. Maybe this one will arrive in the wee hours of tomorrow morning? Regardless, I didn't wait 24 hours, but I don't think that it's that strict. I posted "last night" and now I'm posting "today." On to other things... Firstly I'd like to point out that if "Loneliness" will be on the next EP and "Middle-Distance Runner" is debatable, then evidently they've cut the song in two, and left out the bits "The," and "of a." I find it pleasing to note that Stuart M. shares my fervent admiration of the song, and I hope that will mean it will be the single, with the others being B-sides, and a video being made for Loneliness. This also explains why Struan decided to spontaneously add the song to the setlist in DC, a point which I was endlessly pleased about. Their live rendition of it resembled closely a version taped for me by the lovely Bob Dole. Well, I changed his/her name to protect the innocent from getting harrassed. Markedly different is the Beat Patrol session, which sounds more like a cross between "Slow Grafitti" and "The Boy with the Arab Strap." I do hope they go with the live rendition. Hm...Woofkie. That's a new one on me. But that could explain a lot. I'm hoping that the song lives up to its name, though. Perhaps it will extoll the virtues of pet names said while the snow is falling (falling, falling) and the ground sparkles and the trees are frosted white. It snowed here today, but it didn't stick, sadly. Today it would be "It's About Time for Spring Woofkie," or "I Want Some Warm Weather and I Want It Now Woofkie," or alternately "I Want Some Sweet Woofkie from You, Woman." Hello Lovely Bunnies, So Honey has just finished to defrost the fridge, et la vie est belle! A mile and a half on a bus takes a long time, but moving from France to the USA takes a long time too! I finally gave my two hundred quids for a flight across the ocean. I don't know yet if life is better here, but it could be much worse... Did you recognize me? Honey-the-goldfish recognized me at first sight, and I know you can do it too! Need some help? Bad english, french accent, one L...2 P's...you got it! I am Philippe! Well, I have a lot of things to tell you. Don't worry, it won't be too long. First of all, the brit awards stuff. I think it is the greatest joke ever! I am still laughing... And Mister Waterman is soooooo cool! (I just wonder whether Jeepster really needed to reply to Waterman's statements in the Sun. Is there anybody here who really care about what's written in this f***** paper?). Second story : the Belle and Sebastian new mailing list run by Jeepster : As Honey said, Sinister is less a fanclub than a garden when friends meet. If people from Jeepster want to consolidate the dedication of the fans, well I think the concept of 'consolidation' doesn't belong to the B&S spirit... By the way, Belle and Sebastian don't belong to anybody. Several times David sent messages to say that there was no use for people to create their own small webpages about the band ("because all the information is already on the Jeepster's site" dixit Mister Cuisine). So why creating a new list when this is already one called Sinister? Is it because Sinister get a cold from time to time? I hope it is not the reason... Let's see what they want to do exactely. They might have designed a wonderful brand new concept of mailinglist :) Of course Jeepster can decide to create a new list without asking for our permission. They are big kids. I just hope they have something better and/or new to propose! If their new list is just a kind of carbon copy of Sinister (let's call it Jeenispster), it sucks. I feel good on Sinister. Mayby I will sometimes play in other gardens in the future. Mayby in jeepster's garden. I hope the ones who like to swing on the swings in the Sinister's park will not leave it even if the Jeenipster Park has new electronic state-of-the-art swings! Sinister is my favourite garden, and Honey is the most beautiful goldfish in its pond! Lesley, if you are to come to arizona, it is not that far from Utah! I would be happy to meet you some day and help you to learn old songs by France Gall :) Before i leave: the new Smog album, Knock Knock, is absolutely fabulous. All the songs are great, and "Teenage Spaceship" is one of the greatest song ever. Just some little stories about life, love... just a little bit sadness to be overwhelmed by happiness That's it for today. Next time I will have to ask you something about... boamers. Hi Kiddoes, It's been a little while since I posted, but in the spirit of the new list . . . . . Hello there. Has anyone ever ordered something online from AbbyRoad? I broke down and bought Nick Drake's Bryter Lyter (thanks to lots of talk about him a few weeks ago) and three weeks later, ahem, STILL NOTHING. I e-mailed them politely to no avail. I guess this is why you should be careful who you hand money to over the internet but I tend to be a naive about things like that. Anyway, just wondered if anyone had had any experience, troubles, whatever with that company. And hey, I don't care if I get credit for Kites Are Fun appearing on the tape tree, really! Isn't it nice to know that the band haven't gone all succesful after the brits win. Ahhh. Also, for anyone living in glasgow, or west central scotland, did you hear george bowie on the clyde 1 fm breakfast show last week. He made a cruel jibe about b&s only being able to win awards which are voted by the fans - what an irritating, pop music playing bastard. Oh yeah. Does anyone have any details about the kelvingrove park longest day festival '99 yet? Final point (or not). Some chick (sorry if you find this offensive; its just the way I am) was discussing claire grogan. Has anyone seen her on scottish passport -she has the most whiny voice. Hey - star conection commin' atcha. Her parents are friends of my ex-next door neighbours. Once she visited them and I saw her. HEY i KNOW ITS NOTHIN' BIG, BUT IT'S SOMTHING. Does anyone want my daily record clippings?. They chart the sucess of b&s from the release of TBWTAS to the brits win. I also have a clipping about them getting album of the week in the sunday times. I also have some delgados clippings. Did anyone see sounds of the suburbs at the weekend. Methinks that there is a bit of a repetitive buckfast theme going on. The genuine article final piont here. Do any glasgow sinister folk want to go to a gig or somthing, somtime. Also, I've been really annoyed about looper playing borders bookshops almost everywhere but glsasgow. Or was I not told about that? Sinister: new place to air your B&S grieviances

hi, I don't post very much, actually I think this is maybe my 3rd posting ever but I have something about belle and sebastian that you guys might be interested in. From the same people that brought you the fake matador board and the pavement board, comes the belle and sebastian message board. It is still in it's infancy as it was started only last week, could be because of the lack of the sinister mailing list. I'm not trying to drag people away from the mailing list, but I thought that for people who find the list.... shall I say tedious and a bit too controlled, it could be another outlet. The board is not controlled in any way and yes, you can even swear! There isn't many people on it just yet, because like I said it's brand new, but that will soon change as more people find out about it. Much music aired the Brit awards last week, and since I don't watch much music, my friend had to call me 15 minutes into it to tell me they were on.
