me again with two new games for you to play the first is called stereo types, a simple game where you sit in a bar with your friends and guess what music people listen to on their stereos. If it's your first time start simple by spotting all of the marilyn manson and nine inch nails fans, next you can move on to spotting the oasis loving idiots and the charvas (thats chart ravers to the uninitiated). great fun guaranteed honest. the second game is called "what'll happen to Owen in april?". this too is a simple game where you have to decide what will happen to yours truely in the next 3 weeks. Will I write an entire 18,000 word disertation and two 6,000 word essays before the 28th, will I fail out of university in my last semester, will I just commit suicide and have an end to the torture? Place your bets and stay tuned for the exciting conclusion. In order to keep you up to date with the latest betting trends I'll be writing an april update at the ends of my posts for the next few weeks. anyway onto other stuff JR? said in order for to date a girl i require one thing [1] like belle and sebastian which i hope isn't true cos they should have big tits as well (hey it's just a joke calm down). No but this just struck me as a bizarre way to pick a partner, maybe I'm just weird but I always went for girls with great personalities who can make me laugh, they always end up liking B&S anyway so I don't worry about their musical taste. Hmmm I just used the word weird and then seemed to vaguely remember someone commenting that it didn't conform to the old spelling rule, well as sinister's leading speller (sorry bad wizard based pun) I should just point out that many words in the following sentence don't conform, bet none of you can write a sentence with more non-conformist words in. Seize the weird sheik, throw him in the weir, that will give the fish a surfeit of protein. OK so it depends on how you pronounce sheik as to whether it should count but it's a good sentence anyway so there. Oh and time for a big welcome home to all the lucky people who had enough time and money to go to all tomorrow's potterings, me jealous? too fucking right. Sinister: a day in the life

hi everyone. i usually don't post to the list, but i had a lovely b&s-related experience today that inspired me to write this e-mail. i have a feeling that this post is going to be a bit cheesy, but too bad, i cannot help it. i won't be offended if anyone decides to delete this before reading past the first paragraph. alright, so my sunday started off with looking outside my window to find that the whole campus was covered in snow. so much for spring, i guess. i spent the rest of my day indoors researching for a paper, refusing to step outside my dorm hall because i scared to face that beast of a blizzard. even looking outside the window at the snow furiously blowing sideways was too much for me. so 7pm rolled around and the blizzard had passed, leaving us with cold, wet, and windy weather. my friend and i had to make a trip downtown to return the movie that we rented the previous night, 200 cigarettes (i liked the movie a lot, by the way). the off campus shuttle that we were planning to take, of course, was not running for some odd reason. so as we hiked down this big and icy hill to get to the video store, the weather was soo nasty it made me want to cry. my cheeks reached the point of almost being frost bitten- they hurt and were hard and swollen (that wasn't meant to sound smutty in any way, but i just didn't know how else to describe them). after we returned the movie to the smelly rental place, my friend and i headed down to our local favourite coffee shop with the jungle-like-interior. the second i stepped into the shop, the lovely sounds of 'you're just a baby' filled my ears and all was well for the next 30 or so minutes. i haven't listened to tigermilk, my favourite b&s album, in a while so it was really nice hearing it again. the thing is, it wouldn't have been the same if i had played the album in my room earlier today, or at any time for that matter. even though i know that stores and shops have the same b&s albums that i do, it just sounds so different when they play it. and i guess it isn't the sound itself that is different, but the feelings that i get when i hear b&s in public places that is different. its great to know you have a common bond with someone else in the room. its even better when you sit back and think of all the people in the room who are listening to the same music you are, only a few are aware of its brilliance. the whole time the album was playing, i could not concentrate on reading about politics in india at all. instead, i just looked around the room and smiled the whole time. and after the album ended, i wanted to hear it all over again because it was the first time in a long while that i was actually enjoying myself. instead, they put on midnight vultures by beck. that was fine with me though (not as if my approval is of any importance) because my friend and i proceeded to sing along and 'dance' to the first five songs of the album. we reluctantly left the coffee shop and started the long hike up the hill. i seriously thought i was going to die- high winds, icy and sometimes slushy snow, unplowed sidewalks- it was bad. not to mention the fact that my nose and the area just above my upper lip were completely numb and it hurt to breathe. i guess what i am trying to say is that the highlight of my day was hearing b&s at my favourite coffee shop. and because of that, i can say that my day wasn't all that bad. it was good for about 30 minutes (or however long listening to 'you're just a baby' to 'mary jo' is). so yes, that was the wonderful story that i was dying to tell you all. i know this e-mail is a bit on the long side, but it is a result of my lack of writing abilities. maybe my next post, which is due sometime next year, will be a bit shorter. unless, of course, i decide to post to the list my stories of stalking the band on their summer west coast tour (if they actually do have one). only a restraining order from the band (or well..lack of money, a job, parents...) will hold me back. missmai xx +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister(a)missprint.org. such an appropriate subject title, i thought that i would use it as mine also... since im in a rather uncreative mood, which i guess wouldnt be the best time to post. but i will anyway, because i've worked up the nerve to, and i hate posting introduction notes more then almost anything in the world (picking up my puppy's 'presents' has to be my least favorite... ).. tho i guess i'm ok with normal posts. i shouldnt be _that_ notice tho, since i did introduce myself a long long time ago, but then i fell off the planet for a bit. so i shall just reintroduce myself like a first introduction, and you all can come to love me again, for the first time :) wow that was arrogant... forgive my weak attempt at humor, please. i didnt actually say hello... so hi hi!! tho i doubt many of you will care about the following, or the previous either.. so feel free to either briefly skim or just skip over the message... tho i do hate posting to myself... so :) i'm Jes... i used to be on the list as valium_pill(a)hotmail.com... tho i havent posted since the early summer... so i am assuming that you all forgot me... i am currently tigermilk-less... since i lent it to a friend of mine who i thought would adore it, but he still hasnt listened to it. and i gave it to him a month and a half ago. i told him that i needed it back for monday, since im in a terrible state of withdrawl... but i dont think he will remember. granted, he has more important things on his mind (college auditions)... but still. where am i... umm.. i am currently in mid-south new jersey... a lil suburban hell.. but i guess most places fit into that catagory now a-days... my birthday is next month.. well a month and a day away.. i'll be 17, which will be a nice step since hopefully i will be able to get my liscence.. other stuff i like... music wise... i like chick-rocky type stuff... and i like the pumpkins alot.... not music stuff... horses... fantasy type books... tho i have been getting into classic-ier stuff recently... the color purple... popples... remember popples? those marsupial teddy bears from the 80s? i used to have alot.. but now i only have one. i have the pink one with the microphone and the star on her chest. i think her name is punkity... but i dont really remember off the top of my head. and i like fortune cookies.. i have about 40 sitting in my drawer. i got the bestest fortune the other day too.. 'everyone agrees you are the best'.. so im going to frame it and put it on my wall... may 16th seems a very far time away... i really hate waiting. i want to go see looper in a couple weeks... but i dont think i'll be allowed to. even tho its over my spring break. i had a dream that i went to see looper at the beach... and i brought a shoe box of stuff... my cds... and some other cds (leah andreone's alchemy sticks out) and brought them with me... oh yeah, my nalda book was in the box too... and i asked stuart to sign them, and he was gracious enough to... but he drew happy faces on everything.. so my who's afraid of Y2K disc had a really big smily face on it.. but i didnt get to see them play, because the country singer that i went to the show with wanted to leave before hand. this goes with my dream of seeing belle and sebby in a nursing home and having to sneak in cos i was under the age of 65... and seeing a version of 'cats' (which had nothing to do with the actual musical) staring StuD and Karn at a local theater where i used to live... these arent half as amusing to talk about as Jen's recent giraffe dreams... but i enjoyed them while the took place. it snowed today... it was rather nice. i woke up and looked out the window, but since i thought i was dreaming, i went back to bed. when i woke up the second time, i realized that i wasnt dreaming, but i was greatful for the extra sleep. i went into the living room and saw my lamp post (outside)... there was snow on one half of it, but not the other... it was very CS Lewis, and made me long for my books.. i'm not sure where they are anymore... but i hope i can find them. the turkish delights subject header thingy has increased my need for the lion the witch and the wardrobe... this is getting to be too long, and since its generally about nothing, i shall be on my way... so sorry for boring ya... xoxox Jes +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister(a)missprint.org. Sinister: "did you have to get me three turkish delights ?"

My subject line is exactly what i said to my sisters boyfriend who works in a chocolate factory adn knows how much we love chocolate. However due to the fact that I was feeling rather poorly today which is why my jam jams have not slid off my leg at all today ensured that I posed this rude question to him. Nut its okay. Cause he took the piss out of me for loudly whistling the theme song of Glenroe when I thougth no on e was litening. I'm just thinking that what with tweeability being so overrated as it is on this list about the things one could do to counter such desperately pallid dispositions. Aussie rules football.I discovered it today as i lounged in front of the TV, the rules are there are no rules. Now don't get me wrong. I HATE sport. When people i used to work with would nip off to catch the masters, I'd ask was that car racing and they'd snigger. I once in trying to impress a boy who supported Liverpool said, Oh yeah (Iprobably had my hand on my hips, you know that casual stance) he scored it by a hat trick. The very unimpressed boy decuided at that moment that I was a female version of IAN Beale and he never spoke to me again. But Australian footy ; strueth, its excellent. First of all , everyone qualifies. I think the teams have uneven amounts of people. Secondly, its a circular pitch. How cool is that. Thats like a running track with the bit thats taken out, put back in. Thirdly, there noinjury time because you see how badly injured they get and they have to continue, like the Greeks and the trojans in the iliad. Homer didn't believe in injury time and either do the Australians. There is no irritating stats popping up on the screen such as "27% of the pitch was used in todays match" like what featured prominently in Wimbelton. 0h oh the computer is doing that thing agian, its gonna crash, I better get outtie, pretty quickly. Oh I've got an interview with Isabelle from the vicious waves fame for the paper, isn;t that insane ? the band who dont do interviews, letting me do one. I wont get to meet them or anything, they are much to shy for that, but I'll get to ring them and be put on hold and have someone at the switch dialling the secret extension numbers while I ask my questions and be asked to repeat them because I'll beb ound to rush them and rush all the words into one another. So has anyone got any specific questions they would like me to ask ? ______________________ no ? well good , I only said that thing about the interview because I realised how bad this post was and had to dash in a pipnch of B_S content even if it was a lie, it was exciting, i think most of the peoples dreams are total fabrications and that even some of the peoples stories are completely untrue. Take that caroline one for instance, preteding she went to edinburgh for the weekend. The truth is she didn;t go at all. she just wanted to tell lies to make friends. People like her make me sick. well okay that was another lie, why can;t I stop ? if must have been thoseferrero raffaello which TOny got me ? God, they rush right through you, did you know that ? okay, I'm sorry for telling lies. But sometimes lies are better than the truth. youse, i actually just needed a platform to practice from, because I made the mistake of assocaiting truth with easy carefree lifestyle and soon enough I'm going to be in deep water for my fling with truth. So practicing lies, will help me obtain an easy carfree lifestyle, by pretending that truth is fake and whats fake is true. Of couse if I just told lies in the first place, I wouldn't be inthis mess, actually if i didn;t do the things which necessitiated me having to tell the truth and then lies, I'd be fine, but then ththis post would have only been about aussie football and in fairness , who wants that ? __________________ Disclaimer : the information which is obtained through a quiet perusal of these emails should be absorbed by osmosis. 20:19, sunday 9th april hidelyho everyone, how are you all? i'm not too bad actually, considering my recent rather over-emotional behaviour in jeepster chat.......apologies to peter panic, linn, and colin the hare, also to bluemorning and the sad witch......i have no idea if you are all on the sinister list, but i will apologise, just in case......... for all of you who don't know what i am on about, it is all b&s boy's fault!!!! *ahem* well, i came to the conclusion today that i love being a b&s fan a lot. possibly even more than i love b&s, which is a GRATE amount.......this is not to say that i love b&s any less than before, i love them more so even.........oh this is confusing.....what i am trying to say is that i love this wee community, all the posts etc and i think you are all fantastic.....any spare list crush votes can come my way anytime!!! *blush* it has been an eventful week, i stayed off school from wednesday onwards because i was ill. well, i had the cold, does that count?? so i listened to b&s far more than is healthy and i have now decided that wee richard looks a lot like a builder that lives near me. well, i've never seen them together, so maybe richard has a sideline as a brickie?? we need to be told. if i hear his hammering rhythm bears an uncanny resemblance to the drums in "like dylan in the movies" it's certain........does that mean that the others have sideline jobs? is mick moonlighting as a graffiti artist in glasgow? does sarah spend her spare time as a sales assistant in b&q?? is isobel really doing it for businessmen on the piano in a japanese restaurant??!!!!! this is getting silly now....... as for signing a petition for a b&s sticker book, then put my name down, imagine, buying the stickers for 30p a pack in the newsies, saving up all my hard earned pocket money for the album and then finding that ALL THE STICKERS ARE DUPLICATES!!!!! THERE IS ONLY SO MANY STICKERS OF CHRIS GEDDES I CAN TAKE!!!!!!!! (and i don't think a sticker big enough can fit his flares on......) I SAVED ALL MY MONEY FOR THESE STICKERS!!!!! Hi evryone having listened to Legal Man a good 20 times since friday I have come to the conclusion it's really really good. i didn't think that it sounded like them at all at first but now I realise it does- it fits right in. I can see why it probably wouldn't work as an album track and Winter Wooskie is a fantastic track to have as a B-side anyway. The lyrics to Legal Man are nicely witty too... right I am off to see Elastica. I hope they play all the old good stuff... Sinister: Me, myself and I

Hi, Ok, great, have been out of the nursery for a while now, without knowing it. Great. So, this is where I tell you some things about myself. Well, am 18 years old and I live in Sweden. Moving on to my musical taste...I like many different genres including electronic music as well as indie-pop. I've been spellbound by Belle & Sebastian ever since I bought Tigermilk which was about 6 months ago I think. I also think Kraftwerk rocks heavy... Among others... 18 years old in Sweden means I'm graduating from the equivalence to upper secondary school (it said so in my dictionary). Anyway, in Sweden we first have 9 years of compulsory school and then we have 3 years of gymnasium (it's the Swedish word for it). I'm graduating from the latter one in June. That's going to be great. It's really been some tough 3 years. Not that it's university or anything but it's tough anyway, you have so many courses about all kinds of different things, of which half of them I don't know when I'm going to use the knowledge I've gained. After that I think I'll be taking one year off. Just doing nothing. Nothing studishy anyway (I know that's not a word). Saw a concert with Ron Sexsmith yesterday. Boy, was that great. He just stood there, alone, with his guitar, delivering beautiful songs. Ahh... Well, that's about everything for my first contribution to this list. Sinister: Squeals with delight!

Lovebugs. Hi. Well, at the last minute yesterday I was whisked off to Denver, Colorado to go record shopping. I don't know about the rest of you, but my income is pretty low due to those taxes and all. I ended up only buying the new Trembling Blue Stars album and after bringing it home, having a friend try and negate my purchase by remarking (in a sad, monotone voice): "Oh. Prepare to be disappointed." I am listening to it right now, however, and I am liking it so far. I just tried to post my picture on the photo gallery. I'm not sure if I did it right. Here is something funny: I live in Colorado, middle of nowhere-ville, right? Full of cowboys and gang bangers, minivans and those bad bangs-hairsprayed-straight-vertical hairstyles. I have four close friends (all girls) who are always lamenting the sorry fact that there aren't many of "that sort" of people here. So we were in Denver yesterday. Everytime we see a boy with thick glasses, the three of them squeal in delight like they just spotted a mystical unicorn (haha). It's really funny. Has anyone ever read any fiction by Gary Lutz? Sinister: black fox

hi guys, well, this weekend has been pretty vile. A funeral, a family fight and a rejection letter from the postgraduate course I applied to. So you folks will be stuck with me for another year... I wrote this last night. This has had no edits, no rewrites, I thought you folks would like to see a rough version of a story of mine. Jubilee and the fox were taking the griffin for a walk in the woods. It was a few hours before dawn, and even the birds were silent. Jubilee let the griffin off it's leash, and sat down on a tree stump beside the river that ran through the woods. The griffin followed the water downstream to a small pool, where fish swam. The leaves on the tree's were turning gold, and the gentle breeze stirred the sleepy autumn warmth around the griffins outstretched wings. Jubilee was starting to dose off when the fox shouted out to her. She got up and wandered over to the pool, where the fox sat, staring at the water. -What is it, fox? Jubilee looked into the water. The pool was filled with small, quick fish. When they leaped out of the water their shapes seemed to blur. They looked like butterflies. Jubilee smiled. -What are they? ~possibilities, the fox said with a shrug ~They might be songs, or stories or something one day, but right now they're just potential. The griffin wandered over, sniffing the water curiously. A fish touched the surface and the griffin scooped it out onto the riverbank. It shimmered slightly, and for a moment looked like a blue dragonfly. The griffin snapped, and it was gone. Jubilee was angry with the griffin for eating the fish, until it slid its beak under her hand and purred softly. she scratched its chin, her anger forgotten. She trailed her fingers in the water in a continuous movement, curve after curve. Her reflection pushed her coppery hair out of her eyes. Jubilee stopped. The reflection continued to play with her hair, curling it around her long fingers thoughtfully. -Fox? Who's that? The fox glanced at the image in the water. ~That's us. -But there's only one person there, Jubilee replied. The fox said nothing, and wandered further upstream, looking up at the lightening sky. The clouds were burnished with gold, it was going to be a nice day. jubilee watched the fox and the griffin further along the waters edge, and got up to follow them. Sinister: cardigans and their many dangers

before i start my little rant i thinkk that i should make it clear that no matter what i say, i love my cardigan. the problem is that i think that it is some sort of parasite that feeds on energy. whenever i put it on i lose whatever desire i had to do anything, even reading becomes quite a chore let alone things like essays. another danger faced by cardigan wearers every day is that if you live iin an area like barnet to go outside in your cardigan is to ask for all kinds of abuse. its only because i'm so big that i don't get beaten up all the time. by that i don't mean that i'm hard and fight a lot i mean that i've got long legs and can run awys very fast. much to the amusement of the puffer jacket wearing wretches that are are hot on my tail. i think now would be as good a time as any to explain a little about barnet. it is the most northerly point of north london and rarther middle class. like all suburban (more like sub-human) part of london if is packed to the gills with pseudo-cockneys whoes idea of a good night out is to hang around in herds outside supermarkets drinking alco pops as they are too young to get served in pubs which normally couldn't care less about your age. these 'people' have such fragile egos that they feel the need to atack people who are a bit different so as they can define themselves by what they hate. the are fully paid up members of the fasion brigade. sorry about ranting so much, thanks to everyone who made it to the end. i just had to get it off my chest. bye ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister(a)missprint.org.
