Lawrence - I stumbled across it myself trying to procure the new Sleepy
Jackson single. Here's the details from HMV:
http://www.hmv.com.au/product/rockpop.asp?sku=-968462
"A splendid 8-track Australian exclusive release to coincide with the second
Australian tour by this celebrated Scottish combo. The tracks are the lead
tracks and all the bonus cuts from the various UK CD single & 7" formats of
'Funny Little Frog' and 'The Blues Are Still Blue'. The album 'The Life
Pursuit' has been going great guns for us, as will this nifty 8-tracker."

Subject: Sinister: new B&S compilation?
Hello all.
I've been reliably informed by a friend who works in a record store
here in Auckland that (apparently) there's an Australian/New Zealand
only compilation of the new-ish B&S b-sides coming out in the next
week or so, presumably to coincide with the current tour. Does anyone
know anything about this? googling has let me down, but my
above-mentioned friend was given a copy by a record company rep. this
morning.
And ... hurrah ... I am seeing B&S for the second and third times
tomorrow and Sunday nights in Melbourne. Lovely ...
Sorry, short and reasonably pointless post
Lawrence

Hi all!
I've been lurking for a few months here (don't know what took me so
long to look for a B&S list, I've loved them for about 7 years now). I
was going to post about the two New York shows back in March but life
kept me too busy to do so (they were fantastic and cemented my
boyfriend becoming a convert to B&S). I'm Nancy, a librarian in the
suburbs just north of New York City. (No, I don't have a bun and I try
to keep shusshing to a minimum. Get that stereotype out of your head!
*grin*)
Anywho, the gist of this post is: can anyone in NYC drag along a
friend on the 27th to score me two tickets for the July 4th show in
Battery Park? I have to work that day. I was going to try to take a
vacation day but looks like half of my small library's staff will be
on vacation then already, so I can't even leave early *sigh* and being
a 35 minute train ride outside the city I can't get anywhere in time
to get tix that day. I was wondering if any listees are going that day
to get tix and can drag along a friend who's not interested in the
concert to get me two tickets? I would be eternally grateful. Please
contact me off list at bonslivres(a)gmail.com.
I've been watching their website, and waiting for their mailing
list to announce details on how to get tickets for that show. What a
huge disappointment when I checked the website today and found out
there's no way I can get to the ticket locations on time.
Thanks for listening to me whine. I've really been enjoying
everyone's posts for the past few months and look forward to more.
Best,
Nancy the Librarian

G'day all.
Sorry to pester you again so soon, but in the organising of the
Melbourne Sinister Pubnic, I've discovered that my second-best mate
Jeremy (formerly of this parish) has a spare ticket for Saturday's
show. If anyone fancies it, please drop me a line off-list
(dhewitt(a)gmail.com) and I'll put you in touch with him. Come to the
pubnic then come along to the gig - it'll be grand.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm officially excited.
Australia making its first World Cup appearance in 32 years, and a
Belle and Sebastian show off the back of their best work in what feels
like almost as long. Winter's never known such sunshine, I tells ya.
Bulk love,
-David (Vanilla Flavoured)

G'day all!
So who fancies a pubnic before this Saturday's gig? The Melbourne
Sinister Massive will be convening at the Portland Hotel on Russell St
(between Little Collins and Bourke St) at around 3pm, if anyone's
keen. There'll be shelter, warmth, food, drink (both alcoholic and
non) and banter available on the day. There will also be some special
guest SiniSTARs from sunny Auckland in attendance. And I'm totally
going to bring my Uno cards with me, even though the missus almost
certainly doesn't want me to.
Regardless of whether you're a visitor to Melbourne, a long-lost
friend, or previously-unearthed lurker, we'd love to see you there.
Drop me a line (dhewitt(a)gmail.com) or just turn up on the day.
Bulk love,
-Vanilla Flavoured David.
