Sweet Lovely People,
more silly ramblings from me,feel free to skip!
>didn't a while back i read an excerpt of an interview with isobel where
>she says that stuart puts himself in the role of a woman and writes
>songs about himself.

that's exactly how I hear/see it..I never saw the 'gay anthem' i always saw
me and the record store boy 'kissing just for practice' which reminds me..I
liked hearing cuddle/muddle for the rhyming bit when I first heard it...no
one seems to use the word muddle...

Damn you,all with your winning smiles and pique-niques!Hey..I have the
PERFECT location for a picnic....Rupert,Quebec! Alright,so there are not
many 'attractions' but there are trees, big trees..and mountains..Forget
about those expensive spa treatments...you can mud wrestle in the
creek!Yessss!All in favour?
*a tumbleweed blows by*
Fine! Me and Old Man Withers are gonna have a blast, playing turkeyfoot and
hula hooping to Dog On Wheels...
oh,I like my Pastels single, the girls voice feels so familiar! SHe reminds
me of someone..I don't know who...and I feel stupid,I thought one bit she
was going 'You harchie bastard!' and I find out it is 'you hired cheap
actors' and I'm not gonna go on about it but i got a phone call eek eek and
anyways it made ME squeal..umm..anyways... I trying to get an anagram and
now I feel dumb..
I love my cats even more! They miss me so much,I come back and all my widdle
baby wants is attention! I think people should take advice from this,do you
know how happy I would be to come home and find oh I dunno...say a record
store boy wanting his tummy scratched!
alright,NOW I should go!

limericks are easier than anagrams so:
from you,my love,records I buy
for you to love me,how I try!
do not hesitate anymore
here is a nice floor
and when you ignore me,I cry
OR
my cutie works in a record store
he's always going behind that back door
he looks good in flares
he just doesn't care
of him i would like to see more
(oh so that's why they told me to give up writing!)

Dear Sinisters!
Hello! You all talking your lovely mix of things again....
It is nice to be back....I got to go with my friend to her high school...it
was alright,I feel a bit different though...this one girl was trying to be
nice with me and she asked me if I like this one band...can't remember who
it was..wy..wyclef? Or something, then I try and describe for her what music
I like and *surprise* she didn't leap out of her seat and hug me and go 'Oh
Belle and Sebastian,me too, isn't Stuart David a dreamboat!' no...she goes
'Oh,so like nofx.'..anyways..then she looked disgustedly at my brett
Anderson picture and tell me how ugly he is...*sigh*
...BUT I do get sympathy, just from being from Quebec..(should i be
insulted?) but the wrestling coach scare me! Now I undersatnd your PE
stories (see I don't have a teacher like that) He was nice but he would
sorta bark at me and ask if Quebec City was a province....or he would ask me
something, and as I finish saying it I see he's not even listening there but
throwing some boy onto the mat,all while some guy on the excercise bike (do
they pay him to jsut cycle? He never wrestled, and I was there for 2
hours...2 houuuurs! 2!) made fun of things...
Do you know in some places for school you have to get up at 7:30! HOw do
they expect you to learn!
Then I had a real weird moment..i was in the biology class, and this one
boy struck me out from the rest,I don't know why, then I find out it's this
guy,the same boy 8 years ago when I was little I would arm wrestle and bike
race him (and I won! On my girly teedy bear bike..I won!)It's so weird..from
this guy you knew so well, then 8 years go by and you see him with
multi-coloured hair wearing a speedo!
Speaking of porn stars etc...
I was in Blockbusters (in the DRAMA section! SO I don't know why he ask me
this) but some weird little man ask me my opinion on this movie 'tales of
erotica' or soemthing like that, and for the record I did not rent naughty
movie I rented Before Sunrise! Was that girl crazy? I would've thrown Ethan
in the river and tell that poet to start writing some more poems for me!
Mrrrrowwww....wasn't he gorgeous! The unbuttoned shirt...the tousled
hair,the accent..the poem...Dominik Dominik..
My name....Sugar Daly.....I sound like a boxer,not a porn star..I don't
think I would get much work....BUT if I use my friends version of how to
find it I get Scrumptious Valecka..that is little bit better? Yes..I
should've told that guy to rent Scrumptious Valecka's movies....
hee hee,I'm gonna leave this email but I'm not gone, yes I have to blah blah
blah about many other things so you arne't rid of me yet...!
All this talk about speaking 'Scottish'! I wish more people would,so
lovely!I try but I can only do so many words...'but would you no like tae
be Scottish'
actually,I would like to live on a hill with a Scottish boy it would be so fun!
smooch smooch smooch,
Sugar Daly
ermmm
Genevieve! ;)

Hi, Sinisters !

Drake?"
Yeah! I don't!

At least we have an idea of Stuart D's sexuality, then!

I never had any pets, and my parents never married. What should I do?
An unlucky bastard aka Rocker
P.S. Don't worry, Paulhoney, there are many of us older than you on the list,
we just don't like to admit it! (At this point there should be one of those
winking face things, but I've never bothered to work out how to do such a sad
computer nerd-like thing!) (Is an exclamation mark not enough?)

hey all.
no b&s, i just wanted to make a recommendation.
i went and saw "the big lebowski" earlier today, and i have to say, i
was so overwhelmed by that movie. it's the best comedy the coen brothers
have done since "raising arizona".
so, if any of you liked "raising arizona" or "fargo", definitley go see
"the big lebowski". i sat through it twice and blew off work it was so
good.

I enjoyed the story too. I don't think anyone was offended.
In keeping with the clear speech campaign, here's my humble opinion:
That supposedly gay song never struck me as being gay at all until someone
pointed it out. The first thing that ever struck me about B&S was the use of
the word "confessed" at the beginning of The State I Am In. I thought oooh
you'll get into trouble for that. But I was wrong. Perhaps when people
refuse to be drawn on their own sexuality it's to avoid being portrayed as
Motley Crue types who say "there are no faggots in this band!". Apologies to
Motley Crue if it wasn't them.
Anyway, if anyone is even slightly interested in this kind of thing, I
heartily recommend the Faber Book of Pop. I know I tend to go on and on, but
it really is a good read, putting "pop" music in a wider context. It's also
quite...hmmm....refreshing(?) to read about people who don't usually figure
in lengend-based music books, people like Sylvester of You Make Me Feel
Mighty Real fame. Plenty of stories that make you stop and think. Which may
or may not be a good idea, but I personaaly think it's better than the usual
rock history books. The Village People story in this month's Mojo magazine
is good too. It also contains photos of our old friend Bert Jansch. It would
appear that he does exist after all. Which is more than can be said for any
of the folk records that they rave over. After a hard day's rifling through
record racks I found absolutely none of them. The only thing I found was a
folk compilation with Billy Connolly on it, some song about wellies, so that
was that.
That was a hint...
Yours in emotional drainage,
Peter
