That sounds like a cracking idea John, schedule the picnic with the release
of the new single. Indeed we could sail on down the Thames and shoot the
queen whilst we're at it too, that'd be quite a launch... seriously though,
it seems like an appropriate time for it to me, given that it'll be the
summer and stuff. Having said that, I'll be at the picnics whatever, single
release dates are notoriously changeable and we may need to plan the picnic
a bit more in advance.
Cheers,
Keith

> Some men are just sensitive.
Thank you, Matthew! Someone FINALLY said it! Why is it that every male pop star that
shows an ounce of sensitivity and doesn't play on the most distorted guitar possible is
automatically assumed (by the most conservative homophobe AS WELL AS the most
out-of-the-closet flamer) to be gay?! Talk about enabling stereotypes! I hope Mr.
Murdoch is straight, 'cause sissy heteros who like to dance and don't like to fight need
heroes, too.

number of times "girls deciding to date girls" theme comes up in Stuart M.'s lyrics.

Thought you'd all like to know that the wonderful Mr Coupland's forthcoming
novel is called Girlfriend in a Coma.
I saw it in a bookstore today and had to read the back - no Smith's
reference - but she is in coma for 20 years...I know, I know, it's
serious.......

Firstly, hello everyone, I'm new to the list.
Glancing through the archive I saw talk of "the little prince" which
reminded me of the completely wonderful book of the same name. All
B+S fans will love it and since its so short it takes only an hour or
so to read. Also, the little prince looks just like the boy on the
b+s T-shirts. He lives on a planet thats very small (about the size
of a house) and has three volcanoes which he cleans out regularly
(even the extinct one because "one can never be sure") and cooks his
breakfast on. When he visits Earth he makes friends with a FOX! And
, OH I want to tell you all about it but I won't - read the book, its
delightful and charming.
I think its by a frenchman called Antoine de Saint Expuory or
something, and Peter Ustinov did a very good story tape of it which I
used to listen to as a kid.

I'm ashamed to say I know this one, look i'm new here don't be too hard on me.
<<28) Woah, makes me want to dance, woah, it's a new romance... >>
...... "Woah, I look into your eyes, woah, best years of our lives".
It is indeed, "Best Years of Our Lives" by Modern Romance. Sorry. It was
played at every school disco I went to in the early eighties, that and Come on
Eileen. Oh and the Birdie Song as well.
<<45) Boys, now the times are changing the going could get rough... >>
I'll redeam myself though and say that this is "Quiet Life" by Japan. A damn
fine song which remains a favourite of mine to this day. Before all you old
gits out there take the piss, it's the only Japan song I like.
Personally no13 in driving me mad, I just now it's gonna be something i've got
in my collection. I keep thing Talk Talk, the quote sounds like one of their
lyrics. It'll turn out to be Queen though knowing my luck, just to embarass me
further.
Bye for now i'm off to be punished for knowing the answer to No 28

its is very strange to see the previous days postings about charlie and
the chocolate factory..especially after sitting home sick on friday or
saturday..i cant remember which and watching the film yet again..plus on
'dawson's creek' (yes i know..a teenybopper soap opera delight) one of the
main characters was made fun of as a child and was called oompa loompa..
has anyone heard the smoking popes cover or 'pure imagination' its a
lovely song..perhaps the best bit on seeing them in concert when they
opened for mozzer.

It's a great record. A number of slow acoustic sad songs where Stephen's voice
is just heavenly. The last song, "one day one of these fucks will change your
life" is quite epic as well. I'm glad someone's putting it out.
