That'll be me. ohh christ 6 years ago now when i played with glasgow
dafties "Saint". we practiced at the same studios and the same time and
i heard the sweet voice which i followed to find her all lovely and
singing to herself. <sighs> god bless every one of us..
Alex Romanelli sang in a wobbly voice:

Oh what a fine film. I fancy him in that. Makes me want to get a gun
and a girlfriend so that i can shoot some blanks. Low era B&S? hmm my
personal favourite - but "Labyrinth" is definitely his finest work.
Genevieve said in a dreamy voice:

no one will believe this. My mum says that Percy Byshee Shelley is my
great, great, great, great, great grandad which may or may not be true.
If it's not don't tell me, that thought alone can get me through a day
in prison. I have inherited none of g.g.g.g.g.grandad shelleys talent,
but i do walk with a stoop.
Honey mr loverman spunked:

Couldn't agree more with you, my splendid man. The first couple of
lines are lovely lovely. I think we know what snakey fellow we should
thank for that.
Ok dokay now i work.

Anyone who fancies coming can meet at Christies which is just down from West
Port going towards Grassmarket tonight at 8:30.
Look forward to seeing you...
What about the other people from Edinburgh who haven't replied yet...
Cheers,

> Do Beat Happening still exist?
According to a recent interview with Calvin Johnson in the Onion (which can
be found somewhere on the internet), the singer/guitar player, Beat
Happening never really broke up, they just got so involved in other
projects that they stopped their work together. He said he didn't see them
getting back together anytime soon, but wouldn't say never. He is still
running K records, and leads the group Dub NArcotic, which came through
town (Denver) to play in a warehouse in the fall. I think his voice would
really be interesting doing a B&S cover, Track and Field, maybe?

Hi,
In today's Guardian it says that BMX Bandits are playing at Bottom of the
Hill on Saturday night, in case anyone on the list is from San Francisco.
If anyone's planning on going, please email me so that we could meet
before the show.

When I bought "Sinister", the guy at th local CD shop said that it was one
of his biggest sellers that week.
I got all the recent EP's, and they re-stocked quickly. A show here would
be well received, even before
I starting converting.

Anything by Cheryl Crowe. I live in Colorado, and, being the rabid
trendster I am, I snowboard. It always seems that after playing the
perfect tune on the way up, I hear Cheryl Crowe, and have that "Winding
road" song stuck in my head. Dog on Wheels or LLPJ seem to be the best
B&S songs for snowsports.

i usually don't get all into the literary discussions, but no one seems
to have mentioned my favorite poet and author.
richard brautigan.
his poetry is wonderful, if often overlooked for his novels. try "the
pill versus the sprinhill mine disaster" for a good collection of poems.
for novels try "in watermelon sugar" , "so the wind won't blow it all
away" , or "the abortion" for starters. he's famous for "trout fishing
in america" but that book holds nothing against his other works. i don't
even know why it's so popular.

In an attempt to try and settle this discussion about whether Monica Queen is
actually Isobel...
She was in a band called Thrum. Many years ago they performed on British TV, on
'The Word', playing their rather fine single, "So Glad". I've got the album it came
off - the only one that they made. It's a bit patchy but if anyone wants a copy I'd be
quite willing to make them one...

just to clear the air on a subject.
i posted a couple of days ago about the smiths is dead and was talking
about placebo.
some people have written in saying they suck and i should stay away and
some people say they're good and all the usual stuff.
but everyone who's written, unless i'm misunderstanding, is under the
assumption that i liked the song.
i hated that song. it is the most crap cover i've ever heard. it was
even worse than dinosaur jr.'s version of the same song, and that one
was quite crap also.
thinking that placebo suck,
brad
