two posts this week, neither of them directly b&s-related. but after add n to (x), i didn't think it could happen again, but it did...another fantastic night...in ONE week. anyway, if it's playing in your city (tonight's the last night here in san fran) or coming soon, go see a japanese film called "after life"...honestly, it's one of the finest films i've ever seen...and while watching it, i thought of b&s and the sinisterines (that would make a good band name, huh?)...it's a truly original and moving piece of art. i can't stop thinking about it. for those not familiar, it takes place in what seems like an abandoned school where people who have just died come and are "counseled" by a group of case workers who must elicit just ONE memory from each person's life which they will carry with them to the next stage of eternity. the catch is that once you choose a memory, it's staged and filmed (according to your details) and then projected for you to view...this is the only thing you'll remember forever...a filmed re-creation of your fondest memory. i don't want to spoil anything else about the film for those who haven't seen it, but it works on so many levels. i was on the verge of bawling near the end, and especially for all of you digressing on the nature of love, there is a sad and beautiful romance at the film's center. just see it. it's nearly flawless. cheers.jim. +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
