hello sinister. i am officially obsessed with the new death cab for cutie album. i promised myself i wouldn't take advantage of the opportunity to listen to it before it came out. but then, when faced with it, i (as with all things i truly love) gave in. the song is 'a lack of color.' move over photobooth (and i never thought i'd say that). *** i am happy the list is so nostalgic right now. it echoes that feeling i had a few weeks ago when i decided to come back. and. in a not so weird way, the way i felt when i joined. i feel like i don't know anyone again, and i kind of like it. *** the season is changing again in middle america, and i am ready for it this time. i had been wanting a gray, rainy day from the first day i moved into my new apartment; the front room is perfect for cloudy weather. and finally, a few weeks ago, it did rain; i was asleep on the couch, and i woke up to the sound. and lying there watching our cheap, pastel chiffon curtains move over the open windows, i knew this fall would be perfect, if only because the light in the apartment always is the softest yellow, and the sound of eleventh street below the windows always is a quiet bustle. when the leaves turn, our porch, three floors up and surrounded by trees, will be covered with reds and oranges-- i keep writing about colors. *** i hope, as in past times, no one decides to send me any poetry parrots, sestina weasles or villanelle vermin of any kind. i met with a professor this morning to discuss my thesis project, which, we decided, will be a collection of poems. i have to hand in ten to fifteen every three weeks, and i think if any literary wildlife showed up on my lovely windowsills, i wouldn't even have to go to the trouble of turning them away. the crazy look in my eyes, set to arrive in approx. 21 days, will be enough to frighten any poor soul. .xo.lou. ===== www.somewhereinbetween.net __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
