Hello I've just got back from New York and having read a couple of Smiths type e-mails I thought I'd add my bit. The Smiths eponymously titled first album is by far the worst thing they ever committed to record. Hatfull of Hollow however is superb and one should buy this as the definitive early Smiths introduction. The Queen is Dead is clearly their best album for me, although Strangeways is also superb and Moz and Marr frequently cite it as their favourite album. Basically you should buy all of them but the first album really does pale into insignificance next to all of the others in the Smiths cannon and anyone who says otherwise is talking absolute twaddle. Whilst in NY I was very pleased to hear Belle and Seb played in quite a few of the bars I visited and I felt very cool wearing my Stow shirt. I even managed to overcome my fear of hights by going up one of the World Trade centre towers, something I was too terrified to do on previous visits. However I did get a tiny bit scared when a helicopter passed below me when I was on the roof but apart from that it was fantastic. Cheerio then Savage __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
