hello, well i'd just thought i'd let people know about the question and answer thingy on wednesday if they are at all interested. The 10 Room was the setting for this shindig, in Picadilly, London (very nice place it is too). I gather that the event was primarily for the press, and that was why it was in London as opposed to Glasgow; also thats why only 20 tickets were given to the members of the public like myself. I dont know if holding a press conference constitutes selling out though- i was happy just to be there. after a while, all seven members came along and sat down in front of microphones and cameras, and they all looked rather well. Topics of discussion ranged from Steps ('freaks, but nice freaks'-Stu M), to the importance of being Belle & Sebastian (l-o-n-g discussion), to why Stuart is so obssessed with buses (he went on to extoll the virtues of the new Glasgow public transport system), to the title of the new album (Stuart read it years ago on the door of the lavatory he was sitting on), to Stuarts performance in the Bowlie football ('was i playing for Sinister? oh thats even better'), to why the 12" of Legal Man has the extended track (Chris maintained that thats what 12" records or for, and i can kind of see both points of view on this debate), and lots of other stuff besides i cant remember right now. Afterwards they played the video for Legal Man, a kind of 1960s pastiche of those smoky club affairs with lots of gentlemen laughing and drinking and frollicking whilst the band play on a stage. After that, i think Chris went and DJ'd for a while, and more drinks and the band went and chatted to various people. So a good time was had by all! Cheers to Paul for his company, to radio 1 for supplying the tickets, to Jeepster, to the band, and finally to all those lovely people who have read ALL this! Whew!
