Hi List, I'm not sure but it seems to me that people who listen to nostalgic/melancolic music tend to shut theirselves away from the world. In fact, their world is their room if it has a stereo or a walkman if you don't have a room with a stereo. I'm not saying that it's bad. I'm just saying that sometimes loneliness is a natural consequence of melancholic music. There is a link here.
