It's amazing the silly things you cherish once you have to go without them. Last week (for the first time in a couple of weeks), I finally ventured the roads (that were impassable due to ice and snow) to get out of the house and go to work. It was so good to see people outside of my family again and I realized that I appreciate even the small meaningless phrases that people use commonly. Something as simple as "You make it seem so easy" (except when referring to Blake Hamilton, hehe) is just priceless. While at the bookshop, I was bopping my head along to the great tunes of IYFS (starting at # 3 and skipping the title track so as not to offend anyone). B&S make even work fun. So, then I started making a mental list of places where b&s would not be good to listen to. I didn't think that I would be able to think of many but then I had to stop after number one -- which was in an exercise video. After picturing a peppy blonde Kathy Smith reminding people to breathe along to the sounds of ample sized bum Belle and scrawny Sebastian, well I couldn't stomach it anymore. Of course, I'd rather slit my wrists and do push ups in saltwater than to think of Richard Simmons involved in a b&s aerobic concert. Anyway, I just realized that I still have quite a bit more to say but the topics in no way correlate with each other. From here on out I'm switching to the tres fashionable heading format. **I've Got Rhythm, I've Got Music** I do believe that I am indebted forever to Sinister for music forever. It never fails that if someone from the list has made me a mix tape it is always just ACE. This past week was like Christmas for me. Not only did Jim Gilmer (who is the Tape God. Someone please make that boy an idol) send me Magnetic Fields 69 Love Songs (which is tops) but Angelic Alexander Borgia finally delivered the goods with all of Belle and Sebastian's songs on MP3 format. Oh, it was just too good to be true. Plus, the cd and cd cover were amazing aesthetically. I usually just slap a mix tape together but you kiddies on here make a scratch tape into an art form. **Trends May Change But A Girl's Designs Will Always Stay The Same** Since the posting of the picture that will forever taint my mental image whenever I hear the word tummy, I have switched allegiance from the bodypart page to Miss Scarlett's "Hey Hooch, Your slip ain't the only thing showing" (rough translation). Unfortunately, I hear there haven't been many contributions to this piece of art in the form of a webpage. So, whether it's those tight red fit for a 70's porn film flares, those go-go boots you haven't been able to take off since reading Robbins' "Skinny Legs and All", or those fuzzy leopard print slippers that you wear out to the ABC store get off your clothed bums and send Miss Erica some pictures. I hesitate to wonder if the boy sporting his beautiful pro delgado chest will defect from the bodyparts page. It's so great though it should be at both. **RA RA REE (Is Showing More Than Her Knees)** I hope that all of you have gotten the chance to talk with the lovely Marie Elia (aka Ree, aka Minxy Milkmaid, aka I didn't know you could hike a skirt up that far) . You can look at her picture on the sinister page at http://www.belleandsebastian.org/honey/sinister/people/MarieEliaLittleArsoni... Isn't she the most adorable looking creature you've ever laid eyes upon? She seems so innocent, so sweet, so darling.. Ha! My sinister friends, this is where you learn the valuable lesson of never judging a book by it's cover. You get a clue when you realize her e-mail address is "little arsonist". It should be a hint to the fact something is awry. But you never know the full extent of what the little minx is capable of until you put her in with a bunch of young impressionable milk maids. She 'whips' out chapter 27 and your whole operation goes to pot. At least, she crochets instead of doing the k word. **Laura's Feeling Just Ideal: (I'm a Libra)** I think we cleared up Iris's pining about no good rhymes for her name with "shy kiss", "pure bliss", and "takes the piss". Even if that doesn't work, Iris, you'll always have the title of a Goo Goo Doll's song. Then Fiona chimes in with no good rhymes for hers either. I couldn't think of any charming ones myself. But be calm, Fiona, you do have a great song by The Gerbils with the charming lyrics of "Fiona smiles and she says my life is like a garbage can. Fiona laughs when she finds out I'm just a boy pretending to be a man." Why that's kind of snappy eh? Oh well. It could be worse. You could be a Laura where you're relegated to the rhymes of 'tiara' and 'whore-a'. Even if you do get a song where they don't rhyme your name with anything the Laura is usually dead (ie "Think of Laura" Even though Laura is dead, it wouldn't be too bad of a song except for it's sung by Christopher Cross), the person who loves Laura dies ("Tell Laura I Love Her by Ray Peterson) or Laura's a p-s-y-c-h-o p-s-y-c-h-o p-s-y-c-h-o and psycho was her name-o (Billy Joel's song). **Por Favours: (Look Ma! I'm two lingual)** I have a couple of quest-ions that I was wondering if anyone could answer. Actually, there not questions as much as they are just wanting opinions on a couple of different things. The first one is a book by Laurence Sterne by the name of "Tristam Shandy". I was just wondering if anyone on the list had read this and if so what you had thought about it. I will be ecstatic to hear someone's opinion on it. The subject of my other question is the group Silversun. The same person who recommended Belle and Sebastian to me a couple of years ago also really loved the group Silversun. For the past two years, I have been trying to find something by them over here in the states but it has been impossible (im-pos-siblay: that was said in my faux Spanish accent). Are they worth checking out? I don't know a thing about them. So, please forgive my ignorance. **US/CANADA SINISTER DIRECTORY:(Another Favor. This time in English)** Some time ago, I posted about wanting to make a Sinister Directory for all of the listees that live in the US or Canada (or Anartica for that matter). I dutifully gathered all of the information that everyone graciously e-mailed me & put it together in a nice little program. Unfortunately, the person who was suppose to help me post it on the web has been suffering from computer problems and can no longer do it. I was wondering if anyone out there would like to help me put it together. I must admit that it would take some amount of work and would be an on-going project (due to people subbing and wanting to be added). *Spilled Milk: The Spoiled Years** I need to apologize to y'all. It seems as if I have made a grievance against someone on here and because of that it reflected negatively on the list. It seems as if I were most inconsiderate and rude to someone due to just not thinking. I just want to say to that person and to everyone that I'm sorry. Nobody (except maybe Will Porter) is perfect and I know that I personally am highly flawed (Heck, when I live by myself I drink the milk right from the carton. That's right. I don't even pretend like I'm going to get a glass). The last intent of my heart is to make anyone feel as if what they are (or what they do for others) is less than great. I'm sincerely sorry that I made someone here feel that way. I am thankful that they came to me with this problem instead of silently seething about it & cursing my name or flaming me to the list as they could have done. So, if I have wronged anyone else please let me know so that I can try to do my best to make it up to you. Well, that's my 2 cents. If I were you, I'd be looking for some change.
