Dear all, Somebody in the very recent past asked the interesting and in a B+S context, mildly subversive question, to whit; What is "twee"? i shall attempt to offer an answer, though i don't think of myself as a good person to ask, i'm far too argumentative u see... "Twee" i suppose implies wilful shyness and childlike behavior, though a lisp [affected or otherwise], is optional. Childlike simplicity i guess is as close to a dictionary definition as i'm likely to get , but this in itself is a little simplistic as it can be so much more. A few possible examples; an adult with a fluffy teddy bear, those funny cuddly backpacks, so beloved of adolesent girls, the wilful ignorance of capital letters [this has been disscussed to death in these parts, and can be also attributed to laziness. That shift key is a long way off...]. However, i think that *tweeness* is something of a reaction to the percieved threats and dangersof the outside world, a kind of protective blanket against the day to day troubles in its purest form. It is all to easily corrupted and abused by the cynical to their gain, tweeness is nice and tweeness is fluffy, but it can also be all toeasily abused, so go careful with it.... Oh, and hello to all intended picnicers, with any luck i should make it [Saturday 3rd July o.k.?] Sooooooo Looooooonnnnnnggg, *the Adam* "Because I know that you know, that we know they don't know whats been going on....
