I've actually been out the nursery for about two months now, but I almost forgot you had to write to the list for people to realise you are here! I've just been a passive voyeur (or lecteur, I suppose) up to now, but now I'm being pro-active. I want to introduce myself, but I don't want this message to degenerate into penpal chat, because that would be absurd. Anyway, my name is Dougal, which means 'dark stranger from the hills' in gaelic. And I have dark hair, and I come originally from Edinburgh, which is pretty hilly, so my parents named me well. I am a boy. B&S Content: When I first heard that the single had an instrumental on it, I feared the worst. Would B and S stoop to furnishing us with a 'filler'. How wrong could I be? Judy is a DS is one of the few instrumentals I genuinely love. The melody seems to go on for ages (though I don't want it to stop), and Cooke's small pips on the trumpet which arrive unannounced are truly orgasmic (God I've missed that trumpet sound!). I can't wait for the opportunity to dance to it in a drunken manner when it comes on unexpectedly in a club. Having said that when The Boy WTAS came on in a club in Edinburgh last summer, I got a wee bit over-excited. The euphoria soured when I accidently squashed a Japanese tourist. (Sorry Misha!). Idea for B and S song: One of my favourite songs of all time is 'Bonnie and Clyde' by Serge Gainsbourg (with Brigitte Bardot). I think Stuart and Isobel singing this as a duet could really work. The lyrics could be adapted to cover the 'Ice Cream Wars', the gangster battles which shook Glasgow in the early '70s. Must go now, the ever excellent Alan Titschmarsh is on the telly...
