I went to the 12-bar club once. Sat outside for ages waiting while the staff decided to let me in or not. Billy Bragg said hello, and Robyn Hitchcock touched me (though not with his greatness) on his way off the stage. I seem to remember that only five people can fit comfortably in the "arena", so it'll be intimate at least, especially if the whole BS mailing list turns up. If you can't get in you can sit around in the alley outside drinking from the bar and still hear the show. I have to go to Birmingham tomorrow, which, at the risk of offending some perfectly nice midlanders, I would rather not do. (Because I'm ill, not because I'm anti-brum). Whoever's tape I have will be listened to on the way, as will a heavy dose of Grant Lee Buffalo. Buy their new album - Jubilee - it's almost as good as fuzzy. Promise.
