but, i have to say, and duke, maybe you could agree here.....the new lambchop is better.
the new lambchop is indeed great, but i don't really want to compare the two. the Belle record is a great big Pop monster, and it's flaws of trying to incorporate too many asides in the one record might well be its strength. i think the eps point is valid though, i could see this as a series of EPs, in fact that would have been quite nice. Maybe it could have been a collectable vinyl special with five 12 inchers in a box, like the great Mo Wax Excursions series. or maybe not. As for lambchop, well i like its air, and i like the way it's Pop without being as obviously so as the belle record. Maybe that's a plus point in the long run... i suspect it might be. Really, unless you're a lucky sod like me and i suspect Brad who got them for nothing, i'd go out and buy both. And anyway i'm buying the vinyl of the belle record today, so no complaints from record company men, okay? ;-) hope to see some of you later in London. keep the faith, the duke -- 'all of our dreams are dying of overdoses' Tangents On-Line http://www.virtual-pc.com/tangent/ PO Box 102, Exeter, EX2 4YL, UK tangent@lineone.net +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
