In today's Observer, there's an article on 'What the fonts you use say about you'. Well, having seen the artwork for the new single, B&S' fonts appear to be saying 'THIS RECORD WILL APPEAL TO SMITHS FANS'. What happened to the understated lower case of TBWTAS? Or the compact captals (Impact perhaps?) of IYAFS? Perhaps the worst offender was the the florid handwriting font sported by 'Dog On Wheels', which made it look a little like an Interflora advert. I'm not asking for a bog-standard 48pt helvetica italic logo like Oasis', just a bit of typographical consistency and record sleeves which don't add too much fuel to the lazy 'they're the new Smiths, you know' theory.
