Can anyone remember anything re. Drop Nineteens? I wish I could.
aaah the long lost days of 92 - the drop nineteens were all nineteen (inspired) and did the really quite wonderful 'my aquarium' ('when you smiiiile - i think it's bedder the second time around, and at the end - you can do it agaaaaain...') thems were the days.
i remember the drop 19s only cause they wrote a song about winona ryder and it was ok but the rest of the album was dreadful, then i saw them live and paula hot rod was seen, by me the horror, kissing mat from revolver and the dropsies became an enigma after that because of perceived bad taste. actually though revolver's 'cold water flat' was one of the best shoegazing records ever, maybe. i was rebutted on another list by mcmicker, i guess no new hopkirk and lee album is imminent(no wonder it is raining here today for the first time in eons) and also they are not actually the new moose. he claims moose have covered a lot of ground and my comparison was ill advised. sorry. apparently they are not the new belle and sebastian either. sorry, again. also, apparently, 'the model' is a sped up version of century of fakers, i don't really hear the similarity but i have a tin ear. i suppose i don't listen close enough to make such empirical observations. sorry. is salako's ep on elefant part of their ongoing ep series? it is a swell ep. am i allowed to talk about salako on this list? i like how european labels tend to press their singles and lps on heavier vinyl. us labels too often pass of myelin sheath thickness records that come ready warped and nearly unplayable. keith m __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
