all this talk of the lion the witch and the wardrobe gives me flashbacks to when i was little (late 80s i think) and the whole familywould gather round the tv on sunday nights to watch the series they made of it. sundays was the day all us weans had our baths and washed our hair so my memory mainly consists of that shampoo/clean hair smell that you get in hairdressers. im sure it was not such an idyllic picture of family bliss in reality but you know that saying about seeing the past through rose tinted specs or something. dont actually member much about the program except the stunning animatronic lion. somewhat bizarrley the only other thing i member is that it was on after the clothes show. never read the books but i have recently reread mervyn peakes Gormenghast trilogy which i think is in a similar vein. its pretty brilliant though the last part is a bit of a headfuck, due to the mental deterioration of the author when he was writing it apparantly. from tjohn on my hifi: The Bitter Springs- "From The Parish Of Arthritis" +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
