Hi Sinister, John Monroe just wrote:
I suppose changing the band name in the song to 'the jesus and mary chain' just didn't roll off stuart murdoch's tongue as nicely as 'the fall'. Far more of a sulky band in my estimation.
and David Gedge at least once a month from my stereo sings: orange slices and a Fall lp... Can the person who told us about trochaic triameter (?) tell us about the rhythm of this line? (And the B & S line, too, but I don't have the new album yet so I can't tell you what it is ... I suppose one line won't hurt although I steadfastly resisted reading the lyrics to "The Chalet Lines".) I always thought it was a weird choice for the line above cos I think of the girl he's writing about as girlish, if seductive, only naively so, etc. Thanks, Youn +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister@missprint.org.
