A £25.00 (twenty five pounds) refundable damages deposit will be required from each person on arrival at the site and will be refunded when leaving the site. *BOWLIE WEEKENDER* - the explanation! The idea for this festival came from Stuart Murdoch and Neil Robertson from the Belle & Sebastian camp whereby they wanted to take over a holiday camp and stage a festival over a weekend with exciting new and already established bands of their choice. The location for the site is The Camber Sands Holiday Centre in Camber Sands between Hastings & Rye. It is set to take place on April 23rd until April 25th. Tickets are being issued as a weekend pass only as the allocation is limited to 2,600 and will be sold as a package where you gain entrance to the festival but this will also include a chalet apartment with TV and private cooking and shower facilities. Each apartment sleeps four to six people and everyone will be encouraged to take apartments with friends as no one can take an apartment for four unless they pay for four tickets. This may appear to be too formal but due to the very limited allocation and the proposed line-up it is likely to sell very fast. Apartments will be available from Friday afternoon until Monday morning and a returnable deposit of around £25.00 will be refunded on inspection of the apartment after the festival is finished. The weekend pass to include accommodation and festival entrance will be £85.00. The live music will take place from Friday until Sunday with a club night after each show with all ticket holders will be able to make full use of all the facilities which include catering outlets, late bars until 4am, Go-Karting, Swimming, Playstations etc. And the beach is a 7-minute walk from the site. The live music will be divided into two stages. The main stage has a capacity of 2,300 people and the smaller stage has a 950 capacity. Both are indoor venues so this defeats the general weather concerns that a lot of festivals encounter. Each person that purchases a ticket will be advised that the rooms have strict capacity and entrance will be on a first come first served basis as to avoid overcrowding. There is a third smaller venue with a bar on the site, which will have video monitors broadcasting live from the main stage as it happens. ************************************************************************ so there you have it! we understand that there might be some of you out there that may be travellling a long way on your own or just with one mate and booking a four bedroom chalet is going to be a bit expensive for you. so the best solution we can offer is for you all to be able to speak to each other and group up into fours - a bit like school camp! to help you with this, we're going to make a new message board on the belle & sebastian site which you can use to post and respond to requests for space + mates to share with! this will probably be online on monday 15th february, so check out http://www.jeepster.co.uk/belleandsebastian/ then! (please note, this will be unmoderated, but anyone abusing the board will have their post removed) we'll see you all there! cheers, Katrina + David -- ************************************************************************ jeepster recordings ltd. - mailto:a-and-r@jeepster.co.uk 217 canalot, 222 kensal road, london, w10 5bn, uk phone - 0181 964 9432, fax - 0181 964 8600 http://www.jeepster.co.uk vote for B&S in the Brits http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/reception/britsvote.shtml +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
