I think I may have been asble to post to the list for ages without realising it....the nursery door was swinging on its squeaky hinges for days, bright sunlight streaming in from outside, yet somehow I failed to notice. Here in Oxford, the weather continues to do weird things, it was giant hailstones a moment ago. On Saturday night I went to see Hefner, supported by Murray the Hump. The venue (the Point) was really really crowded so that Hefner's singer Darren called out "Who booked this place then? surely there are larger venues in Oxford?" to which somebody shouted back "Yes, my house!" B&S played here once, just after LLPJ came out, the queue was huge and I didn't get in. It was one of the biggets disappointments of my life. Well done the Angel for mentioning Frazier Chorus. It's hard to imagine them doing a cover of 'Anarchy in the UK' though (or is this a joke?). They sounded so fey (but not twee) most of the time as I recall. The songs I remember are quite magical, such as Dream Kitchen and Nothing. I wish I actually owned those two albums, 'Sue' and 'Ray' but I suspect they've made the sorry step from bargain bin to Deletion by now. I did actually buy 'Ray' from Boots (hardly the nation's premier record retailer) but when I got it home I found that it played BACKWARDS and I did not particularly want to feel like I was participating in that particular part of 'Cheggers Plays Pop' so I took the cassette back to the shop. Unfortunately they didn't have another copy in stock so I had to settle for the cash as there was nothing else there I fancied (no-one else either, for that matter). Here comes the rather functional sig. file, so you can all guess what an Assistant Local Applications Manager does, should you want to.
