to begin... finn: new years was not a right laugh...i am living in fear of what may have occured during those hours. though, admittedly it is amusing in a withnailian fashion, i suppose. but still dead scary. i expect i will laugh later. like a few years later. i like melys though, they are lovely live, but sadly not so lovely unlive. i've just been to see that new star trek film. it's superbee. there's 'splosions, llamas, beverly crusher, gilbert and sullivan renditions, funny bits AND captain picard in a dress. no, i made that last one up, but's it's a lovely image, no? do you know what happens after a boy scout jumble sale? the scouts all dress up in the unsold women's clothing, over their uniforms. it's a joy to watch. young boys in blouses, fake fur, miniskirts and heels. i saw a fox today, running down my street. it was quite little, i wasn't able to befriend it, mind you, and i didn't want to. you see, i have to admit this - i don't like foxes. my family keeps chickens, and once when i was very little, a fox came one night and killed all our chooks. i wept all morning at school, and i still have nightmares about foxes killing the hens and me not being able to save them. so, for me, foxes are out. sorry. james joyce is funny, if you look think enough about it. funny peculiar, more often than not. but funny ha ha also. especially when describing facial hair. but facial hair always makes me laugh anyway. it's subtle humour mixed with severely boring bits. whereas this is just severely boring bits aurevoirmateslove alix ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "No, Patrick," Luis says. "They were . . . broiled" It's silent in the boardroom as I contemplate this, thinking it through before asking, finally, "What's 'broiled,' Luis?" "I'm not sure," he says. "I think it involves . . . a pan" +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
