the spanish magazine Rock De Lux made an interview to Stevie and he said that he´s a fan of the >Memphis blues, and Steve Cropper (i´ve never heard anything from him) is his favourite.
hey all, just in case anyone care about Stevie's favorite guitarist...Steve Cropper played in one of the baddest blues bands ever...Booker T. & the M.G.'s!!!!!! (yes...he was an M.G.) If you're interested in checking them out, any greatest hits collection will pretty much suffice as a starter just as long as it has "green onions" on it...also, the track "melting pot" is worth searching out! Cropper was also the A&R man at Stax Records (nuff said) for awhile...finally, if you're looking for a visual fix of the god-like inspirer of our man Stevie (the b&s man), check out the classic movie "The Blues Brothers"...he plays in Jake & Elwood's backup band ("the band!"). well, i'm sure that didn't interest everyone but if just more person out there has a listen to "green onions" then i can feel no guilt! take care ketan ps. i am imensely jealous of anyone who has the means to go to the upcoming b&s festival...not a mean, hating jealousy...just a desperate, numbing jeaslousy... pps. does anyone else love cornelius? +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
