OK, take the song "The Boy With the Arab Strap", remove the "swing" beat, add straight-ahead 4/4 drums (w/ plenty of ride cymbal), droning organ, the occasional bubbly Moog, a couple of well-placed harmonies, and me thinks you've got a pretty great idea for a perfect Stereolab cover. Granted, I guess add those elements to about any song, and you're in Stereolab territory, but the whole idea hit me while listenin' to TBWTAS today. *big shrugs* Back to the house of pain, RPB +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list please mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
