Dylan in the Movies....

That's why it says "don't look back", which is also a film about Bob Dylan."
Yes, Kelvigrove Park has always been a bit of a dodgy area, including the road that runs through it. I once had an eventful stroll along there at around about twilight time. First of all I noticed a man enthusiastically cleaning his gearstick in a parked car (didn't know such things happened at the time), and then a bit further along a man who looked like a great big mutant version of Chris Geddes tried to block my path. I think he was going to "grab" me, but I risked life and limb by running out into the road, thus preserving my sanctiity for another day. Shall I type in the last B&S related bit from my crappy magazine? Don't all shout at once - here it is: Belle and Sebastian - Lazy Line Painter Jane What is the hyperexpressive Monica Queen doing straddling a song by Belle and Sebastian? Putting the most well-scrubbed fans of the neat and tidy Glasgow combo out of socket, that's what. The result (the EP's title track) is like an unnatural meeting between Texas, Tarnation, and a little monkey with a new organ. The three other songs are no better than those on Dog on Wheels, the previous EP, no, there's no The State I Am In nor blatant tributes to Love, bbut a track like A Century of Elvis - spoken word and cotton backing vocals- makes it obligatory to give them a vote of confidence and close your eyes and wish that If You're Feeling Sinister doesn't remain just a pretty seasonal curiosity. By Carlos Calvo (which means Charles Baldy) There, that's a bit more controversial, isn't it? I still haven't heard the song in question, so I can't really comment. But I'm all for Monica Queen. Peter PS: It's a bit quiet isn't it? Is it a bank holiday or something? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- .
