I was wondering around Aberdeen city centre, wondering how I could get the money for the Stanley Kubrick DVD box set I've seen when I found out that the World Trade Centre was on fire. By the time I got home it was no more. Shit. I am stunned and shocked. The scenario would not be out of place in a Bond Film. The best Hollywood screenwriters could not have written this. It still seems unreal. At first I wondered why people were jumping to their deaths. Then I realised that in the same situation I would do the same. A big "Fuck you" to the terrorists. I'll die when I want not when you want me to. I'm not religious, but my prayers are with the people of America at this time. I have had my issues with your country before, but no-one deserves this. I remember what it was like in Scotland after Lockerbie but this is much much worse. I don't like capitalism. My form of protest however would use a computer virus, or taking part in an anti-capitalism protest. Not causing the deaths of thousands of innocent people. But I don't believe that the WTC was targeted purely on that basis. I think it was also attacked because it is highly visible. Whether or not the destruction was planned or an accident is not known. At this time one quote which springs to mind is from, bizarrely enough, the Manic Street Preachers. "It's easy to see, It's easy to see. To see only white where colour should be. It's easy to feel, It's easy to feel, But it's not good enough even though it's real." Take care. Will == "It's a big rock. Can't wait to tell my friends. They don't have a rock this big."
