I'm not exactly an authority on women, but try writing her a wee letter, outline your feelings for her and tell her that you are *incredibly* serious about her, but that you can't possibly make guarentees about that sort of thing, because plans never work, but assure her that you *DO* have very very strong feelings for her, and promise her that if anything does happen, you'll do your best to make sure it works. Now then...
Now that my mom isn't sick anymore, let's talk about my REAL problem.
I'm in love with someone. I have been for a long time now. I have mentioned her on this list before. She also happens to be my best friend. I love her. I'm pretty sure (95%) that she loves me. And yet nothing hppens between us. Why? Because she tells me she is scared. She wants guarantees from me, and they are guarantees I can not positively make. She won't live for the moment. She says, "what happens if we're together and I have to move to another city?" And I tried to make her understand that it would be more likely that we would remain together in any respect if we got together because if we got seperated as friends, I think that would really put a strain on our relationship. I don't do long distance well. I can't make any guarantees, but if you have 3+ years under the bridge with someone, don't you think that I would be willing to make a sacrifice? Of course I would, but I don't want to look that far ahead in the future.
We are totally like that Go Sailor song Every Day; if you don't know it, I think this lyric describes us perfectly:
Do I give my heart away? I do it every day It troubles me and I know it troubles you and the worst part is that I know you love me too.
I know that's what bothers me the most--that i know she feels the same and she's just too scared to do anything about it.
