Hello Sinister Massive, It seems like as soon as a woman knows she has a guy, I mean really and truly HAS a guy, then she doesn't want him anymore. Guys are very much like this too, so I guess we have no room to talk. Perhaps people aren't comfortable unless they're uncomfortable, unless there's that every-present feeling that any minute something COULD go wrong (even if it never does). Maybe it ties in with wanting someone independent, someone who could do without you quite easily, thank you very much. I have no clue. I just know all my overly romantic friends are also the ones who are the loneliest and I wish I could understand why. Ferris Bueller once said, "You can't respect someone who kisses your ass...it just doesn't work." Perhaps that says it all.
yes, yes, where is the line between "attentive" and "fawning"? i'm not sure i know. both sexes seem to have trouble with the whole "thrill of the chase" thing ending, and wondering who else out there one might be missing. and yes, i believe being young and romantic is often problematic, to say the least, for males anyway. it sure isn't helping me! i dunno. my theory is that i'm not the super-exciting, somewhat dangerous and unpredictable boyfriend that seems to rate so highly, but i don't want to be that person either and i'm much much better "husband" material. i hope i'm not actually dreadfully boring.....but certainly, rather unassuming. i've often been called "clark kent". see the photo...i rest my case. the problem is that i've been this way since about fifteen and i'm still not quite in step with most women my age. which is not to say i assume they'll just "grow into me", but, maybe in another ten years, i'll be reappraised or something. well, i've got to hope i'll have the advantage at *some* point, right? :) then again, i could be completely wrong........and wouldn't that be grand. jay, who is trying to keep up his end of the deal, sk "isn't that love?"
