What is StuartM doing now? Maybe we can draw him in with all this religion talk. In Kevin Smith's movie Dogma, he championed the idea that religion is a source of a great many problems in the world and that it would help if we all recognize our religions using a less absolute term: "beliefs". My opinion is that the point about God, in all religions, being some sort or fictitious character designed to strike fear in the masses isn't all true. Its certainly true for Christianity though. I don't think Buddha or some of the other Eastern religions have communicated their God in this way. Its part of the reason I'm curious about Eastern religions. Its seems positive. Hindu's believe that they will eventually become part of the "great spirit" when they make it there through many reincarnations into a better, more stoic, person each life. David's point on religion is spot on: taking action, doing something good, is better than talking about it. But I would also say that going to church and the whole bit is also a good thing because it may inspire those who choose do this to become better people (and to subsequently, take action). Sorry about all the religion talk. I bet some of you on the list are puking right now - wanting a secular sinister list. I think that There's Too Much Love is one of the top five songs Belle&Seb has written. The ending to that song is magical. Crappy B&S content, I know. There HAS to be another single, ep or something in the future because it looks like no activity for well over the next year. Can I keep my interest in this group for that long without something? I'm going to Ocean City, Maryland for the remainder of the week to drink beer, play golf and chase women! Oh, and listen to Belle & Sebastian on the beach with my headphones. Thanks for a great list everyone.
