Dear Sirs, It has been brought to my attention that some fat shambling drunk was at the Bowlie festival passing himself off as me. Let me assure you all that I stayed in London this weekend, sipping lapsang souching and working on my thesis, which concerns Pop, Aesthetics, the Class system, early Primal Scream and the Stone Roses. Apparently this imposter bears some physical resemblance to me, but is an embarrassing and foul-mouthed soak. May I take this opportunity to apologise to anyone at Bowlie or elsewhere who has been taken in by this charlatan. I assure you that I could never countenance behaving in his boorish manner.
