Sinister: Tip-toeing on treaded ground...
So I got a dub of Tigermilk yesterday (Thanks Pam! Now I need to find a suitable gift in return..) and it's really wonderful. I really like the pop-iness of it all, and it's range of styles is a bit tyongue-in-cheek, methinks. The most incredible thing about it, though, is how much the band has matured in just a year or so. Sinister is so much fuller in terms of songwriting...but I digress. It's so cool to see all these overt influences on the first album...holy Velvets! It also seems that the band took several songs from Tigermilk and reworked them into new tracks for Sinister. I heard at least 3 or 4 riffs which they have used again. Thoughts? Even though I don´t know how they´ll get much better than on "Expectations" where everything seems to fit perfectly. The maturing is even better illustrated by the sessions I got on my dub. The first one´s is shaky and untight (but still great of course:-)) and the last from this month is just as I remembered them from the New York-gig. >It also seems that the band took several songs from Tigermilk and reworked >them into new tracks for Sinister.
