So there I am. I'm at home in Oxford wrapping up my presents for my cousins who I was going to see on Boxing day. We've never been really really close but you know: they are family. And I'm quite close to one of them who has had a hard time of late with mental illness and other things you wouldn't wish on a charming girl of 24. I'd got her some candles (ooh -Mr Originality....) and I was listening to Sinister while wrapping up her stuff. And I was thinking.... "This is an awful gift... but this is fantastic music...I love this album....so would she....she'd better have it." So I stopped wrapping the candles , took my CD out of the machine, placed it in the battered box and wrapped that up instead. Yesterday we went round to her parents house. She wanted to play it immeadiately so we stuck it on. 30 seconds of "The Stars of Track and Field" was all it took before she looked at me; "I love it....". Happy Christmas See any matinee people on Sunday, hope the other gigs are wonderful. xxxx john PS - Would anyone in the London area like a posh candle...? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- .
