Hello All, It seems a tad obligatory to be a bit of a Northern Soul aficionado at the moment. Quite right too, I suppose. But if you're feeling a bit insecure at not really being hip to what all this classic Northern grooves malarky's about, then those clever peeps at Radio 2 have got a treat for you. At 9pm on Wednesday evening there's some programme called "Dancing all night" (I think) which may be a Northern Soul documentary or it may just play Northern Soul tunes for an hour or two. Either way, it'll probably be good and I'm going to listen and that's about it. If you want to buy lots of nice compilations and you're still a bit of a vinyl freak then Kingbee Records on Wilbraham Rd in Chorlton have loads in the rare second-hand bit. Even though they're in the 'rare' bit they're still mostly 8-10 pounds each. And if you have any friends who can access the Granada TV archives they did a good documentary sometime in the 70s at the height of the Wigan Casino's popularity. Having read Peter Miller's description of "TRUE" Northern soul fans, I can only assume he's already seen this. Er, Keep the Faith!!
