hello heidegger once wrote that art is truth and compares it to walking in a forest and suddenly finding yourself in the middle of a clearing where the sun breaks through the canopy and warms the ground below. you sit down for a rest and as the sun's rays cover your body, you begin to think. it is this thinking or 'enlightment', that reveals the truth in what we see and feel. as it is in art, this truth can be beautiful or ugly (and can take the form of an unmade bed or a jar of urine). i think that it is important for people to express their opinions but the mail i read from a Curtis Heath dripped with so much condescension and aggression that i wonder if curtis was actually trying to get a point across or to relieve himself from a very bad day... since i have the floor, i would like to say that i think art is all around us but good art makes us linger and think and ultimately reveal more to us. "nature is a language, can anybody read?" good night and thank you. the last of the famous, UNintentional Playboys +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@missprint.org".
