Sinister: Death of a ladies' man
It's uncommon for me to post twice in the space of a week, as it's unusual for me to have anything to write (as you'd all concur, no doubt), but I feel compelled to relate the sad and indeed shocking news that wur ain Mick Cooke has dropped out of the Scotland On Sunday '50 Most Eligible Bachelors' list, after scaling to the giddy heights of number 48 last year. No reason is given for this dramatic fall from grace. It could be that Mick's maybe winching and therefore no longer eligible. Perhaps the list makers don't consider Belle and Sebastian to be as hip as they were a year ago. They might think that he's turned into a bit of a floppy mong of late. They may even have heard an Amphetameanies record. Whatever the reason, I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing Mick all the best, in what is bound to be a very difficult and emotional time for him.
