loves philosophy: by shelly the fountains mingle with the rivers & the river with the ocean the wind of heaven mix forever with a sweet emotion nothing in the world is single all things by a law divine in one spirit meet and m i n g l e why not i with thine? see the mountains kiss high heaven and the waves clasp one another no sister flower would be forgiven if it disdained its brother and the sunlight clasp the earth and the moon beam kissed the sea what is all this sweet work worth if thou kiss not me? ahem....i like that , and awkward as i might feel sharing such a bit of words such as this....i make no apologies. hope you enjoyed it liked as i did. sleep well, and may you dream of large women <princes bride> ********************************************************************* angela, from the mecca of elvis fans I.C.Q.#47995388 ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net". Ok, so I'm here to ask the experts: How much corduroy is too much? I've been eyeing this corduroy jacket, but I suspect that it is quite the corduroy faux pas to wear both a corduroy jacket and corduroy pants. To top things off, I fear that wearing two different colors in corduroy at the same time. And for the record, I believe it is I who am THE new Will, as I pointed out in my earlier message. I have just been to see Being John Malkovich, which was delightful. Incidentally, reading this list makes me want to talk and spell all British-like, though I suspect that would make me one of the many fakers defining the century (see how I slipped that in there? The new Will is very clever indeed). The compulsion to say 'arse' and spell things with a superabundance of the letter 'u' is quite a strong one. Quite a quandary indeed. I have been wating patiently for ye olde pajaro de poesie to perch on my sill, but no such luck. Must be because it's not my metaphor at all and I'm terribly late to that particular party. On the other hand, I'm quite glad not to have seen the limerick cockroach around my apartment, so perhaps I should count the blessings I do have. In case you hadn't noticed by now, I don't really have anything to say at all. Somebody, I think, mentioned something about girls being terribly scary, and I must agree. I think they teach girls how to be scary in the part of the sex-ed movie that they never let the boys watch in school. It occured to me as I was driving that B&S might be just the sort of thing that appeals to people who are moderately to terribly lonely, and how that was a pretty good description of me since moving to Texas, and I began to wonder if any of you were lonely too. Talking of the members of the band, it occured to me (as a great many things do, but thankfully, I forget most) that Belle and Sebastian looks to be the sort of band that is greater than the sum of its parts and that though I like Looper and even (gasp!) the Gentle Waves, neither has the same magic as B&S. What is a jaffa cake? Right now, I'm seriously considering not sending this message, because I suspect it might be as dumb as I think it is. it's a bit like talking to girls. Dearest Sinister It s funny I was just thinking about the list crush thing and wondering in the absence of the photo pages would charm really be the basis of attraction not as unreal as integrity say but a step above pure physical infatuation Step above only in the sense of being generous Really no value judgments intended And I just noticed that it s the seemingly artless confession of vulnerability that makes me read twice and sigh But you can t really give people guidelines to follow cos it s not a matter of choice as noted by Lloyd Cole with additional songwriting credits to Lawrence Donegan Don t ask me if I want you Only ask me if I must I can t get them out of my head from the boy in the green sweater in the line for the submarine ride at Disneyland when my hopes were dashed cos the ride reached full capacity between him and me to the person here about whom the less is said the better as that might serve as an impetus for me to accept my fate Sometimes I am unreasonable enough to regret leaving a place cos I fear I ll never have anyone to adore again and hence my life would be meaningless but I should know myself better than that As noted in a lyric by Darren Hayman You love to be in love about which he said it was actually said to him And Genevieve you just need to unfocus your eyes a little and let his charm sink in His awkwardness so great as to seem deliberate is the very substance of it Stephen Trousse famously why famous it should be said that he looked like a muppet whilst unnatural for my dialect I know but I m susceptible to the charms of British English myself playing keyboards

The longer I continue the less I seem to be saying And more incoherently This is great Very true to life Whenever I used to tell people I was a linguistics major they would say Um yet you speak so incoherently I once wrote a paper on speech disfluencies using as my data conversations recorded at a library reference desk and I still remember a particular patron who was looking for a dissertation on Shakespeare Yes a crush needs very little to go on A person who at a momentary loss of words still sounds composed There are no radio stations to listen to in Columbus The only one I can tolerate is the classical music station They just had a program on called Indian Diffusion At first I thought it was going to be about American Indian music but they meant the sense not the reference of the term Indian as Columbus used it It was funny cos most of the DJs have a really high brow speech register and German or Scandinavian accents but the one for this show was speaking in the style of DJs on stations like KCRW in LA For the 1000 listees not residing in LA it s the middle aged or late twentysomething counterpart of the intonation used by people who work at cafes with mismatched cups and saucers and velvet sofas and walls painted red or some non background color For men it s the opposite of falsetto but not in a Rick Dees kind of way It s so that you pay attention to all the wrong words as with practiced flight attendants On the Belle & Sebastian page thanks to the person who wrote the top 10 George Harrison songs And I find it hard to believe that he could be the Beatle that everyone loves to hate as Peter Miller or some other musically omniscient listee noted Last weekend I rearranged the furniture in my room and put my speakers on top of my bookcase Someone else had conveniently bored a hole in the back wall of it so that I could connect the wires And it s a very pleasant experience to relisten to songs and hear all this stuff that I never heard before on account of the improved acoustics I m finally downloading Real Audio Player to listen to song samples by Comet Gain on the CD Now web site The song titles sound so promising that it could only be a good experience As my sister said on the phone yesterday the important thing is to be happy One more thing is that everyone in LA should listen to Eric J Lawrence s show on KCRW The station is 89 9 FM and his show used to be on at midnight on Tuesdays +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
