Sinister: Further London picnic observations...
Hey, Kids! Further to the comments of Miss vicky [a speedy recovery wished from afar, please remember the tape], i don't really have a lot to add, not being able to regail you with tales of inebriated ramblings; i wasn't there, living in Yeovil is a painful thing sometimes, i had a train to catch. The Saturday at least was wonderful, a big HELLO!! ti you all, twas indeed good to be able to see you all and to place some faces, should like to go to another, if i can get away with another trip to London so soon after the last one. i did not play football, otherwise there would have been far, far worse carnage than one bruised ankle, oh, yes. [iwas known as "chopper" at school for this reason, says it all really...]. Since then i have aquired the Hefner album and have listened to little else since, apart from the much truncated, and i'd say rather creakily edited Bowlie set, which was good, but not great [ though it did fit quite neatly onto one side of a blank cassette i noticed, coincidence, non?]. *The wrong girl* was rather wonderful though i thought, but the absense of "the kids...." is unforgivable i feel, esp as i wasn't there...[sulk! pout!] The MM review of Tigermilk, which i've just read in Smiths, is probably best avoided for the ritual slagging and *Smiffs* comparisons contained therein, but it is notable in its uniqueness, being the only bad 'un i've seen, ho hum... I've had a fair few crushes, some good, some bad, but all great at the time which is after all the point isn't it? May the sunshine on you all, as it did at Primrose Hill on Saturday, and probably Sunday too, Adam XXXXX "Because I know that you know, that we know they don't know whats been going on.... Ho hum kids. Just thought I'd do some hopeless self-promotion and tell you that the Tangents site has just collected all the B&S pieces from the past few years into the 'Belle Collection'. Eight super bits of scribbling that will make very little sense if you like reading music reviews that tell you what records or shows actually sound like, but lots of sense if... well just 'if' really. The first five of the articles have been off-line for a while because they are in Young and Foolish, but they are now there for you all to laugh at. Oh yeah, and the last of the pieces is not a review of the reissued Tigermilk. Oh no. Keep the faith, Alistair http://www.tangents.co.uk/tangents/belle/index.htm l for the Belle Collection http://www.tangents.co.uk/tangents/belle/belle6.ht ml for the non Tigermilk thing +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
