Sinister: A story about a fish
It seems like Christmas is the time of year for pets to swim, hop, and flutter their ways up to pet heaven. St Bernard, patron saint of pets has been found knocking on our door recently, or rather the bowl of my sister's little goldfish, Bob. You see, no sooner had I arrived home for Crimbo than I found Bob had died, tragically, in a car crash. Bob was swimming in his special travelling bowl, which has a lid with holes in it and used to contain mint humbugs. The bowl was on the passenger seat of my sister's boyfriend's car who was taking her stuff home. Bob was happy, just swimming about and spotting lorries out of the window. Then suddenly, the car in front stopped and they crashed into it. It was just a bump and Will, the driver, didn't even graze his knee, but looking at the bowl he saw Bob, floating motionless at the top. He'd have tried to recussitate it but gills are a job for a specialist, so little Bob was left to pop his tiny little clogs in peace. Special clogs, for fins I suppose. My sister's last fish, Trevor, only lived for two weeks and spent the whole time swimming upside down and turning a funny shade of grey, so I suppose compared to this Bob lived an eventful life, at least. I don't know if anyone saw it, but when I was reading a magazine at my Grandad's house I saw an advert for a program called 'Inner Tube' which was supposed to be behind the scenes of the Apocalypse Tube, on ITV. I think it was meant to be on Friday. But when I got home and looked in the paper there it didn't mention it. So now don't know if I was imagining it or not. Did anyone else see this program? Or was grandad's magazine actually a 'specialist publication' and I hadn't noticed? Inner tubes, eh?
