I listened to "If You're Feeling Sinister" last night for the first time in ages and it sounded like it did the day I bought it. Or better, even, some of the songs feel more appropriate now. I went through a phase of not listening to it even though I thought it was the best album ever, because it was simply *too good*, and if I listened to it too much I thought it might lose it's specialness. A bit stupid, really when you think about it. The best Belle and Sebastian moment is when the piano comes in at the start of If You're Feeling Sinister. That and the bit at the start of Fox In The Snow when Staurt sings "..where do you go.." and he sounds like he's about to die from a broken heart. Don't die Stuart! Here, chew on this Curly Wurly! I went to see some barrel burning on Friday and almost got beaten up by one of the barrel burners. He was enormous and his beard was thick from years of inbreeding. I wasn't punched though. I only had my face squashed against a tree. I was staying for the weekend with a bunch of crazy art students who seemed to spend most of their time talking about nude parties and "chemistry", if you know what I mean. I half expected Jarkko Frantila to turn up. It was fun, though, and we had fireworks. Hooray! I think the new B+S album should be called "A Scarf That's Big Enough For Everyone". I could do with one of those at the moment. And a nice cup of tea. And, mmm, sausages. Right then, I'm off to photograph my squishy bits. That's bound to amuse the ladies at Boots.
