Right - post champagne-on-Xmas-eve thoughts for everyone. 1. Love to honey. It's not the same without him around - I can't help feeling he's given up on us. For those of you who actually still have love and soppy thoughts about the Sinister Mailing List, we owe it to both him and ourselves to pull ourselves together after the season of goodwill has shone its beacon of, erm, goodwill on us. It's been all squabbling and depression lately, and that just won't do. I have never subscribed to any other lists, and I would never want to. Over the last eight months sinister has given me so much more than I could have hoped - oodles of genuine, lovely friends, days out, nights even more out, a gorgeous girlfriend and, most importantly, the most exciting, funny, moving and intelligent prose/poetry/stream of consciousness that I've ever had the privilege to be one tiny part of. I would be so chuffed if I met just one person into Belle and Sebastian at a party, on a train, whatever - having the opportunity to get to know 800 of you is something that I'm sure I'd miss like crazy if it ever went away. I think that's it really. I too am going to abuse the system just a tad and send my Xmas messages of love to all those fab people I've met and corresponded with during 1998 - it'd be silly to list names, but you know who you are, and you're all GORGEOUS. As are the rest of you, come to that. I'm writing this in my office at half past noon on the day before Xmas - I really should go home and deck my halls, matron.
