Sinister: A thousand saturday plans being hatched to drink and b e senseless
Hello lovelies The Met Office's ever-reliable (ahem) 5-day forecast at http://www.met-office.gov.uk/sec3/sec3.html currently says that Edinburgh will have a sun peeking out from behind a cloud on Saturday, which is spookily exactly the same forecast it gave for London picnic. Considering what a top time I had at that one, I'd say that it all bodes rather well for this weekend. I'm not touching that poison you like to call Buckfast though. No! No! Keep it away from me! I've heard about the effects it has on people and by all accounts it ain't pretty. Even less pretty is the state of my bedroom in Harringay this morning. After an impromptu night of slightly drunken but extremely earnest discussion of albums old and new, as well as not one, not two but three! games of consequences, I woke up this morning to find my sheets were covered in bits of chocolate, red wine and silver pen. Every single I've ever bought now adorns my bedroom floor (apart from Everything I Do (I Do It For You) by Bryan Adams, which I trod on a couple of weeks ago and had to throw away, darnit). I blame that Lixi bird. She's a messy slattern. She's not responsible for my nail varnish collection being slightly depleted though. I suspect the blame for that lies with Mark "Champagne Everlovin' Faggy But Nice" Casarotto, who might have tried to give himself a manicure. If you see him picking at bits of glittery stuff on his fingers, you'll know why. Does anyone know any girls who talk about their 'time'? I don't. ///alexander, who writes his name a bit like ||| baxendale ||||||||||||| said
Noticed that the girl on the cover is holding a book called "I fought in a war". This may be a well-known book, but I haven't heard of it. Someone of you have probably read it.
I've never heard of a book called I Fought In A War either and nor has Amazon and Amazon knows everything, doesn't she? The best she could come up with was A Blood-Dimmed Tide: The Battle Of The Bulge By The Men Who Fought It. So, anyway, I think somebody might have magicked up the picture on the cover with the help of one of those newfangled computing machines. But then I know sod all about anything. Right, anyway, I'm going out for a while. I'll be back later, but I'm not sure quite when. Juicy Lucy -- This communication contains information which is confidential and may also be privileged. _fishclap i read a review in a local paper here last sunday that said something like "if this record wasn't released by belle and sebastian it would have gotten raving reviews all over the world". the paper gave the record four of five stars - but i think there is something in those words. people have come to expect something out of belle and sebastian. fishclap is not that, it's defiantly a new era and if not a little of a new sound. not fullfilling the listeners first listen. "this is not as good as... blah blah blah". i am not ready yet to make a statement yet, i think that you cannot compare this record to anything else, you have to take it for what it is, a completely new record. you can however judge wether you like the direction or if you dislike the things they have on the record. it's good, it's really good though. _jim o'rourke/nme i know there is a lot of brits on this list so i wanna gonna make a request here, no matter how selfish it is, is there anyone who subscribes nme or just simples has a lot of issues? i am looking for this one issue where jim o'rourke is on the 'free cd' that came out last year (i think it is 2323). in it there should be a wacky pictures of mister jim o'rourke. i am compiling a jim o'rourke pop era website and i would be very interested in having that picture (since it is one of the very few of him that there is around). so if you got this, have a scanner or something, please email me would mean a lot - and you'd be rewarded =) _belle and sebastian dream i had my first ever belle and sebastian dream two nights ago. i used to think it was weird of people to dream about bands but now i am just as weird. they were on this swedish music game show called 'bumerang' which is kind of cheesy 'feel-good' tv. they played live there one song (like some smaller or older swedish bands sometimes do) and they performed a version of rolling stones 'the salt of the earth'. it was pretty damn good if i remember correctly. _orange juice is there anyone who have heard orange juice album "ostrich graveyard"? i just wonder if this album is a different verion of "you can't hide your love forever" or if it is a completely different record. i guess it is really hard to find or something. _i wanna see belle and sebastian live why won't they post them uk tour dates? i wanna go see stuart and co sing and play! love l.o.v.e. johan http://www.hayfever.net http://www.hayfever.net/jimorourke +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the undead Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail sinister@missprint.org.
