helloooo, sinisterites! first off, big P!R!O!P!S! to lesleyjo for her smart and well-articluated response and defense of Freedom. women can damn well parade around in tight dresses and heels (so can men for that matter) if they want and still be "liberated." as lesleyjo put it (better than i can), it's about the choice.... soo... on that note, i attended NYC Pride yesterday! -- the gay pride parade and other assorted sundry activities on the 30th anniversary of stonewall. there we were, in the 90-degree heat, on christopher street at the site of the old stonewall inn where, 30 years ago, bunches of dykes and queens and in-betweens decided that enough is enough and caused a lovely riot. the parade was awesome, and was like a veritable show-and-tell of the tons of different kinds of people that make up the gay community. oh, and tinky-winky made his way in there about 3 times! so... 5 hours, and i was sunburned and my throat ached from cheering the marchers on. a lovely lovely day. anyway, whether or not that was interesting to 75% of the list (tongue in cheek) i don't know. but the sheer variety of adults, students, kids, and little purse-carrying purple dolls in the parade and the crowd of on-lookers was amazing... and, i don't know, it was neat. um, will any of you all who are going to the july 23 looper show in nyc be posting on the meet-up board on the jeepster site? or something? i would love to rendez-vouz (i can't spell!) before the show... and kimmy, our favourite pittsburgh sinisterite, is driving all the way from western PA just to see the show... la la la la la . . . . take care. love, marie === *********************************************** * "if you can hold yr breath * * you can touch the sand with yr hand" * * -karate * *********************************************** _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
