Sinister: Re: Shack, Michael Head & inane ramblings
I look forward to hearing this "Head" album that is being highly recommended, and I'm not talking about Monkees business though that is a very fine album too. "As We Go ALong" is a fantastically sorry lament. Anyway I saw Shack play with Arthur Lee of Love but a few years back and they were rather good. Arthur Lee is my only musical hero so I went up to chat to him and he started talking randomnly about taxis to airports. I think he might have taken drugs somewhere along the line... It's funny how your heroes can sometimes let you down. He didn't though. If he told me anything coherent I would have been very disappointed. You only have to hear Love's Bryan Maclean's recent solo album after years of clean living to realise Arthur was the man. I didn't wash my hand for at least 4 hours after shaking Arthur's hand and then only because my mum made me... Now he's banged up some prison cell playing achingingly beautiful harmonica solos... I hope... Martin P.S Apparantly I'll be wearing a red carnartion at the Bowlie so feel free to point and laugh at me (though you won't get any Dairylea). +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
