Sinister: all apologies:) (Eyes Wide Shut)
thanx to Christopher McQuai for pointing out my mistake in the film, "EWS" re:Marie Richardson/hooker conundrum- now I feel like a bit of a dill:) But that still doesn't detract from my opinion of the film- which is not bad by any means but far less than one would expect from someone such as Stanley Kubrick. it's cold clinical dissection of people was unnerving but I have seen other films that do that just as well, if not better. so to summarise, filming, lighting, major themes, Vinessa and Nicole- PROS, CONS : gratuitous and unnecessary sex scenes, 'stately' pace, and Tom Cruise. I'm not the type who expects every film to move along at a cracking pace, after all I'm a sucker for period films and they don't exactly rip along, but there does come a point where one says "hmm, this scene could have been cut out" and the film would have been the better for it. Ah well, to each his one huh???:) Well films I will be looking forward to (and hopefully won't be disappointed by) include "American Pie", "Election", "Blair Witch Project" (sure to spark up another debate here in Aussie land) and "Sleepy Hollow". In my stereo: Wilco and Billy Bragg: "Mermaid Avenue" One Dove: "Morning Dove White" anxiously awaiting to get my copy of Alpha's "Come From Heaven" and Pavement's "Terror Twilight" ok seeya Kin Woo +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net".
