hello to the newly peaceful state of sinister Someone wanted book recommendations Did I recommend Henry Green novels before? I think so. But I would like to again!! There! Read some HEnry Green novels. I would search the archive but bizarrely I have no access to the web! Read Living or Party Going or Loving. They're cool and strange. I think the sweet sinister confusion of Villette is very much the thing for sensitive stans and passionate paulines. Its by C Bronte and its creepy and romantic and shifty. But haven't we seen that poetry is more Sinister than anything? Just remember, it's not pretentious if you're enjoying it - dust off that Camus novel, and your copy of Ullyses!!! I think this may be what A century of Fakers means when it goes on about not finishing the book. love pamela who should be studying and who has 5 days left in which to be a teenager xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +---+ Brought to you by the reborn Sinister mailing list +---+ To send to the list mail "sinister@majordomo.net". <smaller><smaller><smaller><smaller>Not a reply really, but that reminded me of a little dilemma I am pondering over as I scrawl my 3000 word essay for tomorrow 12.15 (started last night). See, I got a book club thingy and I have to send it away in the next few days or I get some crappy £15 antiques book sent to me, but I want to get 3 books in the 20th century classics section, because there's an offer on. Sooo, I've wittled out the ones I've read / are by authors I know I don't like and I have a list of books i know very little about left. Soooo, would anyone like to give me any reccomendations / wary warnings out of the following? Siegfried Sasoon - Memoirs of a fox hunting man Milan Kundera - The Unbearable lightness of being Neil Gunn - The Silver Darlings Garrison Kellar - Lake Wobegon days F. Scott Fitzgerald - The great gatsby Graham Greene - The heart of the matter Muriel Spark - The Pride of Miss Jean Brodie Kingsley Amis - Lucky Jim Yeah, I know lots of them are quite famous but it was a long list originally, and I'm only 19 you know. Um, I was going to say reply to this privately but that's your business really, if you want to start an interesting discussion, etc. Thanks, sweeties, tripple-X weejay Blue Glow is now at http://diskant.future.easyspace.com/blueglow/ (This network is as sick as a dog.
