I was going to say this when the song was originally broadcast, but forgot, so now that we're discussing the song again... Stevie's voice (on Seymour Stein) sounds so much to me like Doug Yule, from The Velvet Underground. It's uncanny. They both have such sweet voices. Mind you, it was said of Doug Yule that he never really understood what he was singing about - the subtleties of Lou Reed's lyrics going right over his head.
