I have to say that this rectoral palava must be a Scottish thing as I never experienced anything along these lines when I was a stoodent all those many, many years ago. The nearest that Bradford Uni experienced was a petition to change the name of one of our SU bars from the 'Steve Biko bar' to the 'Bob Holness bar'. I didn't sign it, it wouldn't have been right. And anyway, I never liked Blockbusters. So think yourselves lucky; the only cult figure around these days appears to be Ainsley Harriott. It could have been worse.
