What's with all this current affairs talk on the list? I haven't been so well informed since I stopped watching John Craven's Newsround. Speaking of news, THAI NEWS: Peter Withe's boys have an intersting group in the World Cup qualifiers. They face fellow jungle dwellers Sri Lanka, kebab inventors Lebanon and Pakistan, run like a madam's brothel by our old friend General. How *do* madams run brothels? With a rodd of iron? I've been looking through my vast fanzine library, fifteen hundred Chickfactors, one The Horn, a bag of goodies from Da Dook. All very nice. But there's a gap where Trousercuts 3 should be. I feel like J.R. Hartley. Where is Trousers? If you ask me, he spends all day mooning over his special friend. I notice he hasn't been generating many column inches lately either. Pete Townshend of the 70s WHO has been generating lots of column inches. Apparently you can get him to write a song about you, based on some kind of 70s computer output thing. Obviously it's no good getting him to write one about Sister Disco, because he already has, the legendary "Sister Disco". Our sworn enemies on the Indie Pop list got one written about them by Momus, so perhaps we should get one for the whole list done by Pete Townshend. It'll cost loads of money, but just imagine the look on their faces when we get one written by a bonafide rock legend and they have to make do with one by indie underachiever Maurice Mus. Matthew Fletcher is credited in the acknowledgements section of The Oxford Dictionary of New Words. How did he wangle that? It laso features anorak pop, anoraky, anorakish and anoraknophobia.
